    can't imagine paddling this river with the roll that guy had at the put in. Unreal. Nice PFD Ira! Just don't go ANY further right on that left line next run!

      Haha I'm sure nerves played a huge part in it! I believe (and hope) they did great the rest of the lap! Thanks for watching! :)

    It's interesting how the first thing you learn in whitewater kayaking is how to do the roll. It's literally the first technical skill. Yet, most class III-IV boaters have terrible rolls in which they need at least two attempts to roll up.

    • @JerKayaks
      @JerKayaks  Год назад

      It’s important to always work on your roll. The big thing is that as we get better we roll less which means we practice it less. It’s a great reminder to us all to always practice our rolls. -Tony

    It's amazing what a good run down a difficult rapid does for the confidence. The odd thing is just how thin the line can be between success and beatdown and the impact either of those affects the mind.

      A bad line leads to a tough mental battle if you let it get to you honestly. -Tony

    Unfortunately that was me missing my roll at the seal launch. Something about being on the eddy line and being above the first big rapid while already being nervous just had me panicking and trying to get my head up early. Definitely not my proudest moment, but I'm glad my beatering didn't psych anyone out too bad besides myself.

      Thank you very much! We try our best to be transparent & not put out an image or video that we are perfect or that we don't face the problems that every kayaker faces when out on the river. -Ira

    The Head Game never goes away, its part of the package deal... Without the fear factor what's the point. So if you cant handle the fear factor you might as well stick to flat water paddling. just my opinion.

    • @JerKayaks
      @JerKayaks  Год назад

      Fear is certainly part of the game. How we each deal with it & overcome it is unique to each person. Just like a muscle you have to "train" it -Ira
