    damn, the singer's voice sounds so good, it has a Freddie-feel to it you know? the guitar player too makes some improvisations that sound really accurate

    I play guitar in a functions / covers band. Funnily enough my rig is a bit more basic than Luke’s!! 😂 He’s seems to have completely replicated Brian’s rig!! Incredible dedication and no doubt some expense!! …… I just use a modeller!! 😂😂

    • @dsgb
      @dsgb  8 месяцев назад +3

      He has spent a lot of time and money replicating Brian's equipment and updates his rig as Brian makes changes. The advantage for the audience is that the tone is identical. The advantage for him is that it's a plug and play situation. He doesn't have to spend time tweaking and honing pedal or digital modelling settings. 👍🏻😀

      @@dsgb And what about Luke's rig!! I'm so jealous.

    • @dsgb
      @dsgb  9 месяцев назад +2

      Ordinarily I would agree but mine is sufficiently similar, my envy only extends to his KAT modified Vox AC30 amplifiers. 😎 He has invested heavily in the rig, amplifiers and guitars (Guyton Time Warp Red Special is probably the biggest single item of outlay).
      I'm satisfied making own Red Special replica and honing the design to get it as close as possible to Guyton Red Special quality and authenticity.
      Three KAT Studio-One amplifiers are more than sufficient to get an authentic Brian May tone at home.

    Freddie could do to lose a few pounds, please tell me they don't play Brighton Rock to the same painful length as it is on Live Killers. They do have an authentic sound, do they play personal favourites Dragon Attack, Drowse and In the Lap of the Gods.❤

    • @dsgb
      @dsgb  8 месяцев назад +2

      I understand that the band vary the set for different tours. There is a guitar solo but it isn't part of Brighton Rock. I doubt they play Drowse. None of the songs you mention were in this concert which I will be uploading in November 2023.
      The authenticity of their sound comes from Scott honing his Freddie Mercury vocal over several decades and Luke investing many thousands of pounds in having as near identical equipment to Brian May as it is possible to get and spending countless hours practicing to master Brian's style, particularly legato.
