I love this! The ships and their lighting are absolutely wonderful. I love the pre-TNG Warbird! Man... I wish this was an actual episode! I also love how faithful you stayed to Captain Garrett's account of the battle. Four warbirds and everything. Great job! Can you give us more?
The shape of those warbirds is even more similar to the real world vehicle called "Bird of Prey", originally, "Oiseau de Proie", which is the French name for the 14-bis, the plane made by Santos-Dumont. Its front elevator, and its rear wings made it seems like a bird of prey, like startrek ones. But the original name is not about any military purposes. It's just about the shape. This plane have flown in Paris in 1906, in front of a crown, and cameras, which made photos and VIDEOS. It started from the ground, lift up by itself, and came back later in entirely in safe conditions, just like now-days replica of this plane.
Great Job! I'm 54 yo so I was perfect age to watch original Star Trek when it premiered. Back in the 60's Star Trek was SO FAR AHEAD of its time that many of the serious minded adults just laughed at it or ignored it completely. As a little kid that watched every NASA space mission filled with awe to see Star Trek just fueled my young imagination! When you are 10 years old EVERYTHING seems possible! I'm still addicted to Space Exploration and anything related. Thanks for posting!
This is still one of my favorite interpretations of that famous battle. On a historical note, the space of time between Kirk & Spock and the adventures of Capt. Picard and the Enterprise D, there was great expansion in the Federation and the entire Beta Quadrant was constantly on the brink of war.
The hell she wasn't >:( her and the crews efforts cemented the treaty between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, plus read the lost era novels that ship under her command for 11 years before Narendra III proves different,
Rachel Garrett was to the Enterprise C what Captain Kathryn Janeway was to Voyager. She was a excellent captain who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. No Captain would have survived that onslaught even if shields would have been up
That was wonderful. I loved your take on starship battles, a cross between the 'jet fighter' battles in warp and the 'naval battleship battle' from ST:WoK. It looked terrific, and the narrative text was compelling. Nice work. :)
Very, very well made! Did a very good job in filling in the gap in the original episode. A lot of work went into this. Thank's for producing and sharing this talented work.
I just want to say that I have been watching this video, not to mention all your other work, for days now. The Romulan Warbirds look outstanding. The black paint over the green is sick. Oh, and I'm definitely going to watch this in conjunction with "Yesterday's Enterprise". Such a great idea! lol
Very well done! Whatever minor 'mistakes' are besides the point. The Romulan ships looked amazing, as did the Enterprise C. This is a battle everyone has wanted to see, so thank you for making this for the fans! :D
Excellent video, I love the detail of the ships and how you re-created the Ent-C/Ent-D meet. I can't want to see the edited version and I look forward to checking out all your videos.
This actually had a rather good set of background music choices. Too often people who make these kinds of videos don't seem to put the thought into the music that you have. Great job.
Im loving how you captured the camera angles from the shows so perfectly.... All I can think of to make it better would be some acting, so that it seems like an actual episode. That would be pretty cool, if you had good actors and sets.
This has all the makings and imagination of Star Trek and all that it stands for, excellent work, to anyone out there, how can u ever make a dislike or negative comment here when this is as close to seeing a new episode of STNG as you will ever get. Makes me realize how much I love Star Trek and how it captures my imagination and makes me long to see more, thank you sooooooo much for sharing!
Well done! I like how you added momentum to the impacts on the Enterprise, something likely hard to pull off with the models used in the series' fx shots.
Baseshocks Why would we Need to ASSume that? They are responding to a distress call from a Klingon outpost that is being Attacked.... Don't get me wrong but the key word: Attack would automatically make me go to battle stations, shields at maximum... ALL Weapons at ready and FULLY activated. Sensor sweep analysis anyone?? Come on man!!
Trent Timoy They Rival fed tech meaning they can target the Enterprise warp engines right after decloaking. As we have seen in the series time and time again, warp engines can be disabled even with the shields up.
Baseshocks The Enterprise was completely caught off guard to have sustained that much damage during the initial first strike. I would have to assess that as a breach of appropriate protocols when entering a potentially unpredictable situation. If I'm not mistaken, part of battle tactics includes a "first strike" on your opponent to gain a upper hand (the Romulans achieved that). The Enterprise sensors should've anticipated a 'decloaking" ship. This scenario was all set-up for the historical significance it contributed to the stronger ties between the Klingon empire and the Federation. The circumstances that occurred with this Enterprise was meant to be in order to forge the alliance that the Federation and Klingons enjoy today.
Trent Timoy For the amount of damage given.. This is a fan made cgi scenario. The way i see it war bird declockes and damages engines. The rest is a battle.
That was very good! I can imagine the script in my head- Captain Garret and her crew's reaction to the attack, the alert sirens, the consoles exploding. And I can see Castillo and Yar's valiant struggle and final decision to abandon ship. An awesome video!
That's a brilliant video! I really enjoyed the C/D encounter and the snippets of TNG "Yesterday's Enterprise" played over the scene - very inspired and an excellent selection of lines. Look forward to your next.
@basherman69 Yes but I'm saying at the moment she chose to lower shields, in order to transport down and render aid to the Klingon survivors, that is when the Romulan attacked, having scanned them dropping shields. It would not have been negligent to do this if you thought the attacking ships had left the area. I certainly will take note that in future videos I should put more thought and time into these issues since I want people to fully enjoy the video without nitpicking lol.
I loved the way you slightly modulated the light behind the cloaked ship. Very eerie and subtle. ST could've used the same technique to let the audience in on stuff without letting the crew know. Very cool.
Nice!!! I've always wondered,as a teenager, what the actual battle itself looked like after "Yesterday's Enterprise" ended. All I had was my imagination to go on. Until now.Great work!!! Thank you!
Excellent retelling of the story! This continues to show that the best talent is on RUclips and not in Hollywood! Very nicely done and great imagination!!!!
VERY VERY good. I am a Trek Shipper (I love my trek ships). I didn't care so much if you did do the ship wrong. I was too distracted by the excellent cinematography and graphics. You pieced together a story that was wonderfully done and compared to others (except one other trek artist on you tube whom only beat this by graphic quality alone) this is a masterpiece.
Absolutely amazing!!!! I feel like I actually watched Star Trek history and in my head anyway, is now canon. I got the freakin chills on the last title card when it discussed the new Federation/Klingon partnership. Great job!
You know what VideoSpaceFX, i really thoroughly enjoyed this, very nciely done. I expected exactly what I got anf was entertained. You have talent and I say good job and thank you!
@VideoSpaceFX This was fantastic. Not sure what the treky121212 guy was talking about either. The video clearly says the Enterprise dropped shields to help the Klingons and there were definitely 3 Warbirds. Very nice work on this.
@VideoSpaceFX Phenomenal, I noticed few if any incongruities. It explained Tasha Yar in the Episode of STNG, and made the Ambassador Class way more then just a simple afterthought. And the CG was fantastic. Good on ya mate
Absoluely fantastic! I loved this ship and it's story when I first saw 'Yesterday's Enterprise' as a kid in 1990, and this is a lovely homage to a 'forgotten' ship. If only you made movies!
I can't claim to be much of a fan of these amateur ST efforts, but this one was really rather good. The understated battle scenes are a definite plus, in my opinion. Great job!
Yesterdays Enterprise was, and still is one of my favourite episodes. I often wondered how the battle might have gone. Be neat to see some short episodes of the adventures of the Enterprise C, since this era has little write up.
OUTSTANDING effort!!!! My compliments! A small piece of advice: knock it off with all the fadeouts. That's all. I LOVED IT!!! Super Job! Please bring on more!
I liked it. A new, consistent-looking design of Warbird, and it's generally nicely-done. The pacing could be described as a little sedate perhaps, and I can't honestly say that I much cared for the Enterprise-C wobbling on its axis when hit on the saucer, but I can see just how much time, effort and skill went into making this and I'm really impressed.
Very good fun to watch. I knew that was the enterprise C but did not realize what episode it was from until it went through the space distortion. Thanks!
Well done, it does fit because eventually tasha's daughter becomes that Romulan leader on a later season. Man its little things like this that makes me like Star Trek even better. Keep up the good work.
I was just saying today we need a new star trek series, and then I find this beautiful gem, i'm in heaven. Pity that theres no cast which would be great, but this is so brilliant. Thanks!
VideoSpaceFX I would like to say thank you for filling in the gaps to the demise of the Enterprise C. It was well told. If I were a movie producer I would hire you all to make this one piece . I all ways wondered how the battle would play out
When the Enterprise-C goes back through the Temperal Rift and resumes the battle against the Romulans you can almost tell that its Natasha Yar that is now manning the Tactical Station... Where as before whoever was at that station didn't really have a clue what the Enterprise-C was capable of. This was very interesting and very well done.. Thank you..
From one "ST nerd" to another, this was well done, I especially liked the cameo from the Enterprise D and the audio from the corresponding episode. Job well done.
Excellent vid and hard work! I thorougly enjoyed it! I agree with some of the other posters regarding points of the vid to fix in your finalized version, such as the 'rift' appearing after a volley of Photon torpedos. All in all it is an excellent rendition of pieces of the story left out of the series that we would have never seen otherwise, if not for your imagination and hard work... THANKS again! This is my favorite episode of TNG!
loved the way you used the klingon's theme to introduce the story. all music works great in this. carry on good work, ships could be a little more agile. im usually no fan of cgi, but looks cool ;)
This is quite entertaining and well done. It's not without flaws but they're easily overlooked for what was right. In the beginning portion of the battle I especially enjoyed the ship motion and camera work. The use of the voice over was also great. However, I think you may have an over reliance on the text. There are a few points where it is not needed, or where more movie would have been appropriate. Story wise, the Klingons only need not trust the Federation sufficiently for lasting peace.
OMFG!!!!!!! THIS is one of the absolute best things I have EVER seen. 'Yesterday's Enterprise' is one of my favorite episodes, and I have always wanted to see the battle at Narendra III both before and after the Enterprise-C's temporal incursion. The only thing I would like to see corrected is the formation of the temporal rift. It did not just magically appear. Captain Garrett said (and I'm paraphrasing here) was the result of a 'fierce volley of phasers & photon torpedoes'.
That was super fun! Thanks for filling in the details I never understood of how Tasha made that later appearance after her death! You use of music was totally pro. Hope you make more. Thanks.
Awesome job VideoSpaceFx! I loved this video. I thought the sounds, and the meshes were incredible. I loved the look of the earlier Warbirds, as well as the Ent C. However, just a few things to mention. Shields! Ent C had em! The computers would've engaged them even before the Romulan ship finished decloaking. I recall Tasha Yar mentioning that the 'photon bays are depleted.Only a handful were used. Ent C should have fired more torpedoes than that.
Absolutely AWESOME. Nicely done.....What a tribute to the crew of the Enterprise-C and the Star Trek universe and to us fans!!! I can't thank you enough for this video. If Gene were alive I'm sure he would have thanked you in person and maybe would have wanted you to collaborate with Paramount on a short story, I know I would have if I were him. WOW.....and again thank you!!!!
@satyrquaze - I had seen this video with the captions on. The captions explained that as the Enterprise-C was coming up on Narendra III, the distress signal never identified the attackers and no ships were detected on their sensors. The shields were down to render assistance to the outpost. However, before Captain Garrett could react, the Romulan ships were already de-cloaked and had their first volly of photon torpedos fired. This knocked out their shield array instantly.
Well done, just as the video progressed halfway through, I was secretly hoping that the Romulans were not able to take the Enterprise C and that the survivors did initiate an auto-destruct sequence, and thank god I was not disappointed. then indicating that the capturing of Lt. Natasha Yar by the Romulans is also crucial because there were later STNG episodes with Sela (offspring of Yar) that can only happen if Yar did not die in that battle. Great video
@VideoSpaceFX I was reminded of one time when my dad was playing a cassette tape of the Star Wars Ep.IV soundtrack in the car and didn't notice that it was so old as to be playing too fast. I just know it so well that I could pick it out so easily. ^_^ But, I'm not joking when I say the video quality here was quite good; much better than most amateur CGI I usually see of Star Trek ships. Textures, movement, timing, lighting- everything was spot-on screen-accurate!
A brilliant representation of this great battle. I've always loved the fact that this Enterprise was destroyed, with the crew fighting to protect others.
Awesome video! You do the genre proud! Like the earlier version of the Romulan Warbirds which are not the D'deridex class shown in TNG. Look at the bottom section of the warbird wings and they are slightly different. Do have a comment though, the individual running the sensors must have been sleeping as the Romulan Warbird decloaked early enough to be detected and the shields raised.
Nice video with decent graphics. They're better than some of the games I've seen. The explosions look halfway decent too, which is good. :) My only gripe is that after all the battling the hull is only scorched. It should have had several hull breaches in it by that point.
I love this! The ships and their lighting are absolutely wonderful. I love the pre-TNG Warbird! Man... I wish this was an actual episode! I also love how faithful you stayed to Captain Garrett's account of the battle. Four warbirds and everything.
Great job!

Wow, That was great! Nice work all around. The editing of the various soundtracks was done well too.
Great video! That was one of my favorite New Trek episodes. Thanks for all the work!
Rachel Garrett wasn't a very good captain that's for sure
Correct. She should of used photon torpedo's as well
The hell she wasn't >:( her and the crews efforts cemented the treaty between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, plus read the lost era novels that ship under her command for 11 years before Narendra III proves different,
Rachel Garrett was to the Enterprise C what Captain Kathryn Janeway was to Voyager. She was a excellent captain who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. No Captain would have survived that onslaught even if shields would have been up
A Captain is only as good or bad as the crew he or she commands.
She was one of the best that's why she was in command of the flagship
That was wonderful. I loved your take on starship battles, a cross between the 'jet fighter' battles in warp and the 'naval battleship battle' from ST:WoK. It looked terrific, and the narrative text was compelling. Nice work. :)
The Plaque at the end is an excellent touch.
Very, very well made! Did a very good job in filling in the gap in the original episode. A lot of work went into this. Thank's for producing and sharing this talented work.
Nice work on the effects! Ship design taste is one thing, quality of work is another, outstanding stuff!
10 years on and this is still brilliant, better than most things on RUclips these days
I just want to say that I have been watching this video, not to mention all your other work, for days now.
The Romulan Warbirds look outstanding. The black paint over the green is sick.
Oh, and I'm definitely going to watch this in conjunction with "Yesterday's Enterprise". Such a great idea! lol
This was a wonderful way to do this episode and it's story justice. Well done.
Very well done! Whatever minor 'mistakes' are besides the point. The Romulan ships looked amazing, as did the Enterprise C. This is a battle everyone has wanted to see, so thank you for making this for the fans! :D
That is gorgeous!!! Probably one of the best Star Trek Animations out there. One can see the love you put in in this. Thank you!
Awesome work! The effects and cg work were all top notch!
I especially liked the shot with the dedication plaque, very touching.
A great video man. Especially at the end with the ships plaque, slowly floating through space, was a very nice touch.
Excellent video, I love the detail of the ships and how you re-created the Ent-C/Ent-D meet. I can't want to see the edited version and I look forward to checking out all your videos.

Very nice detailing The music score is blended so well into the picture and choosen well to highen the setting. Nicely done.
Why weren't the shields up and operating at maximum capacity? You are entering an unknown situation and responding to a DISTRESS call of an Attack?
Assuming they were, Romulan tech rivals Fed tech.
Baseshocks Why would we Need to ASSume that? They are responding to a distress call from a Klingon outpost that is being Attacked.... nice cg. the ships are beautifully rendered and the camera work is quite well done. i'm a bit worried about the enterprise's lack of shields.
I loved the way you slightly modulated the light behind the cloaked ship. Very eerie and subtle. ST could've used the same technique to let the audience in on stuff without letting the crew know. Very cool.

I enjoyed every frame of that. Thank you for posting.
That was amazing! Simply stunning! VSFX, you do simply awsome work.
Thank you so much.
Excellent retelling of the story! This continues to show that the best talent is on RUclips and not in Hollywood! Very nicely done and great imagination!!!!
You're hard work and determination shows! This is incredible
This is one of the best fan made films I've seen.
Impressive. I think it was well done. The rendering of Enterprise was phenominal. Good work!
You guys did a bloody excellent job on this, well done
VERY VERY good. I am a Trek Shipper (I love my trek ships). I didn't care so much if you did do the ship wrong. I was too distracted by the excellent cinematography and graphics. Very cool and well made video! I really like the design you did for the Romulan ships of that era.
Incredible program. Thank you very your hard work. Too bad we never saw an actual television episode of the battle. It would have been glorious!
You know what VideoSpaceFX, i really thoroughly enjoyed this, very nciely done. I expected exactly what I got anf was entertained. You have talent and I say good job and thank you!

well made gold. Thank you for bringing this to the people who wish to see it.
One of my favorite episodes remastered. Very good job.

I can't claim to be much of a fan of these amateur ST efforts, but this one was really rather good. The understated battle scenes are a definite plus, in my opinion.
Great job!
Superbly done!!! Excellent CGI and retelling of the story line.
I like what you've done so far and look forward to seeing a newer version when you have posted it.

Very good fun to watch. I knew that was the enterprise C but did not realize what episode it was from until it went through the space distortion. Thanks!
Fantastic, I miss Star Trek on television greatly. I only wish we could have seen the crews, but keep up the good work.
with great detail like that all you need is a couple of bridge scenes and you can make your own great series...awesome videos
Thanks!
All the ships blown up in seconds are severely outclassed by the other. The video is very well done.
This good stuff here man. I can tell a lot of work went into this. Keep it up.
Well done, this actually completes the episode "Yesterdays Enterprise"
51 years is how long it's been since the signing of the Khitomer Accords. 2344-2293=51 if anyone is wondering.
Very nicely done. Impressive, to say the least. Great to finally see the battle of Narendra III.

Do have a comment though, the individual running the sensors must have been sleeping as the Romulan Warbird decloaked early enough to be detected and the shields raised.
very good video!
I especially like the romulan pulse canon effects and the antimatter explosion of the enterprise.
you are doing great work,
As Darth Vader might say,
"Impressive...MOST IMPRESSIVE!!" :)
Very well done...can't wait to see the re-edit. :)
That was really cool. It makes me wish there was a series based upon Enterprise C. Thanks!
LOVE the sound effects. the impacts are much better than anything done in the series. It actually sounds like something hitting, and hitting hard.
Fascinating video! "Yesterday's Enterprise" is one of my favourite episodes.
i like that most if not all of the damage is consistent with what we see post-battle in Yesterday's Enterprise
Nice video with decent graphics. They're better than some of the games I've seen. The explosions look halfway decent too, which is good. :) My only gripe is that after all the battling the hull is only scorched. It should have had several hull breaches in it by that point.
You did a really great job with this. Congratulations.
How the hell did you make this?!? This is top notch a +. Amazing!
very good. that was one of my favorite NG episodes. love getting to see the other part of the story.
One of the best fan made show ever. Keep working I'd like to see more.
