I loveeee my 2003 Accord EX-V6. got it from an old couple that babied it and maintained it it’s whole life. only had 150,000km when I bought her, in amazing shape 😍
Thank you for the video, my 04 Accord also have K24 and 5MT. Brought new and now almost 290,000km already. Just burn a litre of oil every 1200km. Not too bad.
Bruh…is that strap you used to pull the engine out a fukking seatbelt? You are LEGEND. 🙇♂️ “WE’RE NOT WORTHY! WE’RE NOT WORTHY!” 😂 Bravo, son. Bravo. 👏
Love your videos. Any chance one day you could make a video for newbies like myself getting into cars that just opens the hood and walks through what each of the things in there is and how it all fits together? Maybe throwing in some common maintenance/things to check? I'm an IT guy and my drea is to one day be able to open the hood of a car and understand it as well as I do opening a computer. If you already have made that please let me know! Thanks a lot.
I see you used a Gorin 2T hoist and coordinating engine leveler. The leveller comes with chains but you switched to straps. What size and length of straps did you use?
I have seen him use the toothbrush on his other videos. The tooth brush is his trade Mark. He should use market his channel using the toothbrush as a trade mark.
Why would you separate the inboard joint like that on the driveshaft if you didn’t have too? There’s no pins or clips like a suby, you coulda just used a pry bar on the assembly and popped it out.
@@speedkar99 sorry I shoulda been more polite in my phrasing. Just for reference I don’t usually comment but I’ve been stuck at home sick and bored to heck. For future reference you can knock out the axle with a long bar and hammer, I use a 24inch (sorry standard not metric cause us is backward) and a 36 oz hammer. Takes about 3 blows and pops right out. Again i apologize if I was disrespectful, I’m so bored and tired here at home.
Great video. What was wrong with the rest of the car? From what I could see in the video it didn't look like rust had gone through the floor. I have the exact same car with the same mileage. Only difference is I got it undercoated every year to prevent corrosion. The engine still has another 100,000 km to go easily. It runs and shift like when I drove it off the dealer lot 15 years ago 😁
The toothbrush throw was unsatisfying because it didn't clink against a bunch of engine parts before hitting the ground. I enjoyed everything before that, though~
Very common in most cars up here in Canada (Central and to the East Coast), where we salt the roads in the winter or have salty ocean water up in the air. Rust proofing is a must on all cars if you want to keep them for a long time.
Title should be more specific. You cannot remove the engine and trans through the top of the engine bay from a civic si the same way as this accord. The title is misleading
Sorry, but a speedkar99 video is just not the same if it is less than 5 minutes, and the toothbrush does not make a "clang" when tossed into the engine bay. Just sayin'
@@speedkar99 thanks for responding so fast I'm working on it right now but I undid the 3 bolts holding the plate that came off fine but I'm assuming the actual rubber boot around the cable is still stuck somehow 😅

nice job on AC lines! Quick end environmentally friendly :))
That's pretty cool seeing how an engine come out. Alot of connections to remember to reconnect :)
Thanks for the video
Vey impressive,an entire engine removed in four minutes.
It was more like 6-8 hours of a Saturday
How to remove a Honda K-Series engine in 5 minutes! 😉👍🔧
Yep it's like they were meant for K-swap
@@speedkar99 How long didi it actually took to remove the engine?
@@Avalon491 not sure if you saw it since you posted this,

man im so glad i dont live up north with all that rust, my civic would probably be the cleaning 160k car you will ever see lol
Watch today's mechanical Review and then tell me about rust
Florida, 2003 CRV here. Had it since new. Zero rust on the bottom/
Liked before even watching. Quality content guarenteed 😀
I agree. The best videos on RUclips.
Great video, clear explanation how to remove an engine from Honda vehicle. Thank you!
You are welcome. Probably s common thing now with everyone upgrading these to better K-series
I really think your video's are the best, because you hit every point. Thank you so much for teaching me.
Awesome! Thanks
I cant wait to look forward a mechanic review on new Honda cars
Your going to get a mechanical review on old Honda's before new ones! Video coming tomorrow
@@speedkar99 I love both. Can't wait to see them.
Looks pretty simple. I like that extra hole to get the hood vertical so you don't have to remove it.

One day I'll make it

These weren't known to burn oils like Toyota engines
Now I only wish that removing everything as fast as this video!😁 Good stuff my friend as always!!!! Catch you later.👍
Yeah this took a day to do
A+ for realism. No one ever vacuums out the ac refrigerant responsibly 🙏🏼
🤣 I was wondering if to edit that out. In honesty the system wasn't full when I got the car anyway.

Like your videos, straight to the point, no filler
Great short highlight tutorial. Seems simple, I might monkey branch from toyota to Honda for my next project

It's seen better days
That toothbrush throw was dope.
Awesome Video. That engine has seen more miles than the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 space probes.
No...it only had 196,000km
Barely broken in.
My mom had the same generation Accord, and her engine got to 435,000 km. And even then, it didn't stop working; it got stolen by a meth addict.

@@speedkar99 cool thanks man.
So the ac has been drained? Anyways to pull the whole system without draining it?
You can leave the AC compressor in the car without draining it. This one had next to nothing left
@@speedkar99 thanks man, unbolt the compressor, got it!
Wow so easy to remove an engine👍👍👍
This one wasn't too bad. The V6 hybrid I just took apart had so much rust...
Hi, good evening
Good morning

Most useful video to this day ive been robbing all the ks!
Ok
I have the exact car in San Marino red. Always garages. No rust and all the bolts still have the zinc plating. It’s an EX-L with 5 speed
This guy is the GOAT
hell yeah thanks man. Might be getting a CRV 5 speed and then swapping a lower mileage engine in.
You make it look so easy.
It wasn't too difficult. Especially that the exhaust wasn't Rusty
Thanks for making this video. Love the brush.😀
Nice! You make it seem easy
The 4 cylinder was easier than the V6 I removed yesterday
Thanks for posting this!

Good video , to the point
Glad it helped
Hell yea dude love this channel
I see you used a Gorin 2T hoist and coordinating engine leveler. The leveller comes with chains but you switched to straps. What size and length of straps did you use?
How come you don't capture the AC system refrigerant before taking the system apart? Is it not illegal to leak that stuff into the environment?
Where do you get all these cars to take apart? And what do you do with them later?
How do you remove the axles like that? Always see them at the junk yard like this, always wondered how to do it?
Very well done video
Thanks
3:58 something I never know that Honda Accord has, the extra hood hole.
Most Honda have it.
Not the hybrid Accord

How are you supposed to get the refrigerant out of the AC
You can leave the AC compressor on the car. Otherwise take it to a shop to get discharged.

what's the plan for the otherwise healthy powertrain?
