Seriously raising a kid isn’t easy I am raising two. It’s so heart breaking to see how kids forget their parents in no time but we never forget our kids. Work for their future meanwhile we also raise them without any fail. All of us should make sure our parents are taken care of as much as we can.

because the DIL has not accepted the in-laws even after spending so many years, she is capable of convincing the husband that MIL, FIL (if FIL is alive) are causing nuisance in their daily lives, they are burden as it is too much to care for them. In a way, DIL is the one who has to care for them as she has the duty to run the daily chores of the house while the son (any male members in the family) has nothing to do with how everything is taken care of, how the household chores were taken care of. So naturally he would go by whatever report is passed on to him when husband wife has exchange of details takes place. The old atmosphere of a joint family is no more exists.

Some people dont seem to understand the plight of some of those people who are leaving their parents at old age home. Not everyone is leaving their parents purposefully at old age homes. Some times they dont have another choice. They have their own growing families, they may be professionals holding high positions which dema nd considerable working hours due to which they may not be available at homes,and cannot leave their parents alone due to want of security , health care providers,servants etc. Or have their own health issues like high blood pressure,diabetes, their own children living abroad or else where from the place that they live, due to which they have to visit their own children from time to time and everytime cannot be taking their own aged parents along...due to reasons like extreme weather,lack of housing space etc They have their own lives and hence own reasons too. Worst is few aged parents creating trouble day to day basis interfering in childrens affairs giving too much of advices,criticising, demanding too much personal attention,accusing sons daughter in laws for not cooking properly as per their expectations and not satisfied finding fault with anything that they do etc. If their circumstances are tough then some of the children are perhaps deciding to leave their parents at old age homes. No doubt it is best and top most priority to take care of aged parents having them with their own children. However if it is not possible due to some reason or other then It is much better to leave them at good old age homes, than leaving them lonely un attended at old age and left to care for themselves. Just sending rupees is not enough. Today many urban parents dont need it and are financially independent .They need emotional Care personal time.If children are not able to give it whatever be the reason better that they stay in good old age homes .today many , They themselves prefer to stay in old age homes or gated community type apartments so that they can live with their own age group. Not advocating for people leaving their parents at old age homes. It is definitely unwelcome. But just want to say there are two sides to any coin..and in todays world both sides need to be seen.
I agree with ram ram to some extent. In the future if I feel that my son is having trouble taking care of me due to lack of his busy life, I would prefer to live in a safe old age home with like minded people and well trained professionals, but also stay close to my child's residence so he and his family can visit often.
Firstly, I watched it during a Movie don't know why but it held me till the end I cried during watching this and I decide to never leave my Parents in such situation.

oh he has been swept away with western life style. Just throw a Mother's day greeting card, order pizza and be done with it! At least here he came personally to hand over the pizza, he became the pizza delivery guy with an exception of sharing that pizza with mom too! He was kind enough to bring his wife and daughter with him. Dominos pizza's advertisement too. And one more reality indirectly shown here, he has a daughter, perhaps he and his wife will never have to be at the Vrudhdhaashram as daughters are different then sons! Some people dont seem to understand the plight of some of those people who are leaving their parents at old age home.
Not everyone is leaving their parents purposefully at old age homes.
Some times they dont have another choice.
They have their own growing families, they may be professionals holding high positions which dema
nd considerable working hours due to which they may not be available at homes,and cannot leave their parents alone due to want of security , health care providers,servants etc.
Or have their own health issues like high blood pressure,diabetes, their own children living abroad or else where from the place that they live, due to which they have to visit their own children from time to time and everytime cannot be taking their own aged parents along...due to reasons like extreme weather,lack of housing space etc
They have their own lives and hence own reasons too.
Worst is few aged parents creating trouble day to day basis interfering in childrens affairs giving too much of advices,criticising, demanding too much personal attention,accusing sons daughter in laws for not cooking properly as per their expectations and not satisfied finding fault with anything that they do etc.
If their circumstances are tough then some of the children are perhaps deciding to leave their parents at old age homes.
No doubt it is best and top most priority to take care of aged parents having them with their own children.
However if it is not possible due to some reason or other then
It is much better to leave them at good old age homes,
than leaving them lonely un attended at old age and left to care for themselves. Just sending rupees is not enough.
Today many urban parents dont need it and are financially independent .They need emotional
Care personal time.If children are not able to give it whatever be the reason better that they stay in good old age homes .today many ,
They themselves prefer to stay in old age homes or gated community type apartments so that they can live with their own age group.
Not advocating for people leaving their parents at old age homes.
It is definitely unwelcome.
But just want to say there are two sides to any coin..and in todays world both sides need to be seen.

I agree with ram ram to some extent. In the future if I feel that my son is having trouble taking care of me due to lack of his busy life, I would prefer to live in a safe old age home with like minded people and well trained professionals, but also stay close to my child's residence so he and his family can visit often.

Firstly, I watched it during a Movie don't know why but it held me till the end I cried during watching this and I decide to never leave my Parents in such situation.

oh he has been swept away with western life style. Just throw a Mother's day greeting card, order pizza and be done with it! At least here he came personally to hand over the pizza, he became the pizza delivery guy with an exception of sharing that pizza with mom too! He was kind enough to bring his wife and daughter with him. Dominos pizza's advertisement too. And one more reality indirectly shown here, he has a daughter, perhaps he and his wife will never have to be at the Vrudhdhaashram as daughters are different then sons! Haahaahaa, how come the same person plays different role as a son and as a son-in-law!?!?!?!?!?
