Very helpful details! My Baggs Bridge violin was damaged.... I highly recommend the Baggs Bridge with the pickup imbedded in the bridge, however a luthier needs to fit it, so it is more of an investment and permanent. Not for a fine violin, just for my beach fiddle for outdoor weddings.
The KV didn’t sound good, it sounded cheap and nasty. Great review and nice rendition of the butterfly. The BB is a decent pick up, I’ve used it for years.
I dislike the way BB designed it to be attached to the bridge via a screw. Constant screwing on the bridge will of course damage it. This alone is a failure. It sounds louder and thicker but it may not necessarily mean the Violin tone with 'cut' through the music if you are playing a drummer. People fail to realise that thicker tone does not mean mean it will be easy to be heard when playing with many musicians at the same time.

you made a genuine review of these pickups
I've tried all different combinations but settled for an Imelod transducer MD30 + BOSS WL -20 if needed
Thank you for this review. I ended up purchasing the BB 3100, should arrive soon.
You're welcome! Glad I could help!
Thanks for a great review.
Very genuine review.. Thanks for the comparison.. It's really helpful 👍🤝
Thank you! Glad it helped.
Every fiddle-diddle player should own a chin-rest key, which fits these pickups.
Once I buy this mic 3100 actually it kills violin sound. So built-in mic barcus_berry 1320 is better I am using it very good
