And yes, our bride knew exactly what she wanted and was able really communicate that to us. About being a bridesmaid, it really is a commitment to help the big day be a happy day. I remember, I was in a bit of a bad mood about something that on that wedding day and the bride noticed and it affected her mood as well and she started getting really stressed. That’s when I realised I need to be careful with the energy I bring around during an already stressful (though happy) period. Let the day just go smoothly. Other things can be addressed later.

Most people who live on the continent do not even recognise the narrative that we hear from the West. I remember telling my friend that we keep hearing that Africans live with wild animals but I've never seen a wild animal in my life and I guess that's same for most people on the continent. Yet, I see stories from the West of coyotes and bears in people's backyards. Bears literally coming up to the front door lol. Foxes roaming the streets of London. It's all a narrative being pushed. Hahaha I can’t say you are wrong, especially if we go in to look at migration patterns in the grassfield regions. To add to your point, I’m a North West girl but my village uses the Ndobo fabric which is the same as used in the West Region. It’s just that I don’t have the hard facts and I never considered looking into the history to see which villages are considered Bamileke. I just went with the generally-understood terminology. I do know of course that we are all Bantu ✊🏽.
