💬Synopsis:
Ma Shang is a national security agent who receives a special mission to trail a spy from beyond the borders all the way to Shuangqing City. While performing surveillance work, Ma Shang discovers that the spy is but a small fry in their grander scheme of things and that their goal is to steal the top-secret research of Huading Group. Due to extenuating circumstances, Ma Shang is dispatched directly to Shuangqing to collaborate with the city bureau in commencing an investigation under codename Storm Eye. As a team is formed, Ma Shang, realizes that the local team leader is none other than his high school classmate An Jing who had left ten years ago without saying goodbye.

Zhang BinBin is a fantastic Male Lead with awesome skills as an intense character who happens to be so strikingly handsome! l loved seeing his performance abilities grow from the first time I saw him in ETERNAL LOVE (aka Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms) Saw everything he did after that except “I Will Never Let You Go” cos I heard the ending wasn’t good.
Aaah! I hope the script for this drama series is worth it! I love ancient c~drama and was putting this one off... but to see Yang Mi and Zhang Binbin in starting roles for this is too irresistible! :P

Zhang Bin Bin has matured considerably since acting in, ‘The King’s Woman’. He acted superbly in that drama, hence making it very memorable! His features now are finer and he is visually impressive. He is acting in a variety of genres which shows his versatility, and it’s obvious that he works hard at producing the goods. His acting is genuine and authentic, thereby giving him much credibility as an actor. He comes across as being a lovely person all round. There are quite a few excellent actors in China, and Zhang Bin Bin is one of them. I would like to see him act in an adult love story containing life’s trials and tribulations, but with a happy ending. I’m not sure I could handle a tragic ending. I would like a female lead, not one of the most expected ones, but someone of the calibre of Fan Bing Bing because she is exceptionally beautiful, experienced, highly intelligent and very passionate. Definitely not anyone he has already acted with. An older woman? Yes! Too young? No! A tall order? Yes! An actress who has experienced life to the full would be the way to go; ‘experience’ being the operative word. Wishful thinking? Mmm!!
He’s one of the very few Chinese actors who has the rare talent in facial expressions watch his face and you’ll feel the deep emotions of the drama he portrays

I really liked this drama. Smart capable leads and genuinely likeable/empathizable secondary characters.
Some things to note for people who are thinking of watching:
(possible spoilers below)
* It's quite a slow-moving drama. It goes at the pace that an actual investigation might. There are false leads and dead ends, and conversations are not rushed. This is something I really liked about it, but which some people may find boring.
* It's a spy drama first. Romance is secondary. Anyone expecting a sizzing romance is going to be disappointed. But I liked the interaction between the leads. He's outgoing, she's clumsy (in the romance department).

Its only the first episode and Im loving it. This drama has 2 of my FAVORITE celebrities as the lead roles, how could I not click & watch it? AND it comes with ENG SUBS, yaaaayuh!! This is the first time Ive seen Vin Zhang in a modern drama and he's still fine as hell. Im fairly new to the chinese drama crowd (covid-summer) I've loved YangMi since I watched FUYAO (Aug2020) and have been crushing on ZhangBinbin since Peach Blossom (OCT2020) he absolutely stopped me in my tracks when I saw him. FFWD to Episode 2: it has subtitles/close caption for at least 12 different languages unfortunately ENGLISH isnt one of them, smh
I have the comment just before yours and I read about you typing there is no English Subtitles for the 2nd episode. I moved onto the 2nd episode and it has English all throughout it on the screen. Are you using your cell phone to watch this series as some people have trouble with using their phones and not getting English subtitles. And can't change them to English. I'm on a laptop PC myself.
Of course, Binbin has great magnetic charisma on screen, that you can really be drawn to him.. He is pretty handsome guy.. Love his stare, eyebrows, nose and lips.. Height.. Waaa... All😊😍😘

I just started this drama, and must start off by commenting about the title of the drama as translated into English. The term "Storm Eye" is normally not used to describe anything. It connotes to me someone with mean or vicious behavior. The term "Eye of the Storm" is most likely how the title should be translated. This normally refers to the eye of a hurricane or typhoon, where the winds are relatively calm but immediately surrounded by ferociously strong winds. I suspect this drama will demonstrate that kind of activity.
