The Canine carnival 2015 at Imphal Hapta Kangjeibung evoked an overwhelming response with more than 100 dogs turning up for the competitions.
Organised by Manipur Dog Lovers Club (MDLC) under the theme ‘Stop Dog Meat’ and ‘Health First’, the event is focused on various breeds of dogs raised in the State.
B. Badrinarayan Sharma, Commissioner (GAD &AE) and Dr. R.K Nimai inaugurated the dog show as Chief Guest and President respectively.
The exhibition turned out to be a dog lovers’ delight with different breeds, including the indigenous varieties, adorning the show. Different Dog varieties like Labrador retriever, German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, English Mastiff, Rottweiler, St. Bernard, Bull Mastiff turned up to participate and showcase their talents in the show. Local breeds of Awang Huijao (Tangkhul hui) and Meitei Hui also participated in the show.
Breed show, Talent show, free veterinary camp, talks by animal experts, photo exhibition, felicitation of the Samaritans and book release were also a part of the programme.
The evening ended with several talent shows which were brought in by the trained dogs.

Dog has done such a beautiful job, however i didn't like how her trainer was kicking her and his shoes must have hurt the dog so bad.
You shouldn't kick a dog! The judges must have been wrong in choosing you as the winner cause your show wasn't nice when you were kicking the dog many times. Besides, is your dog pregnant? Then why you kicked her? That's not funny. What a shame!!!!

Joy Deb I’ve seen dogs that go through combat training, and they never kick them. You don’t kick animals. Just like you don’t kick a human unless you’re defending yourself. It’s just wrong.
Labrador was very intelligent but kicking to dog looks very odd, trainer needs some changes...

You need to give treats in between to your dog to encourage them. However keeping in mind that you alao need to take proper care of his diet and ensure he/she get enough physical activities. By the look of it, it concerns me that a talented dog's health looks compromised. Also you can definitely use a better method rather than kicking your dog. That was disgusting.

Is this training given by trainer . A dog shows depend on obedience/ talent to fetch/ jumping / command to sit or bow..but at least kicking the dogs what a priority .. the dog can't speak but to take the kick ... Shameful to see such.. I have never seen such training where show's goes by kicking and standing on dogs to prove what type of training goes.....
