This is so much more timely now than then. God has shaken His church by closing them down, forcing those that want Him desperately to seek Him out and those that are content with complacency to stay complacent.
I know when you get born again, you have the Holy Spirit. But Jesus also talks about rivers of living water. You don’t have to speak in tongues to be saved, although the baptism of the Holy Spirit does empower you. The Holy Spirit will convict and will help you understand scripture.
Amen! Being in constant communication with Him is wonderful! I'm still learning how to do that daily. Last year, during the fall semester at my university, it was the most busy than I had ever been. But I made Jesus my priority - praying & thinking about Him in the car, walking to & from school - and it was life-changing and His joy filled my heart. Nevertheless, this year I have been struggling to keep it up, but the Lord is my Helper & I am reminded of His tender mercies and lovingkindnesses. My desire is for Him and to please Him. Thank you, Lord, for being patient with me and for forgiving me when I repented of laziness and distractions that have been in my life this year.
We love to sin. Is our love for Jesus greater than our love for sin? In John 21, Jesus asked Peter do you love me three times in three consecutive verses to disciple him and bring him back after denying Jesus three times before Jesus was crucified. When I get that temptation I remember what Jesus said "Do you Love me". I cry "yes Lord" and thank him for loving me and dying for me and my sin. And the temptation is gone because Jesus is with me. How many times in the past did we say They’ll never stop me from worshipping my God?
