  • In this video we are unboxing, installing, and reviewing the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 & Dongar Technologies Dash Cam Power Adapter!
This is the most discreet dash cam setup available.
We're using the smallest 1080p dash camera on the market along with the Dongar Technologies power adapter which eliminates the need to run ANY cables around the vehicle. No electrical wiring skills needed for this install and it really is just plug and play! I love the minimalist style setup where the camera and power cable are completely out of view. If you are an Uber or Lyft driver then this camera probably isn't for you. You want something with a large screen so riders know they are being recorded. But for the majority of people who just want the dash cam in case of a driving incident this is perfect. Most passengers won't even notice you have a camera.
Dongar has a large and growing compatibility list but for my setup I used the Ford 16 pin connector model with my 2019 Ford F150 Lariat.
Please leave any questions or comments below. Thanks for watching.

yes.. pairing my cameras was/is ridiculous. I had a USB power supply for 3 years.. I did the panel puling and door seal hide and ran it along the head liner near the top of windshield..It was pretty well hid, I had a Garmin 66 W on the windshield and a Dash Cam Mini 2 on the back glass. Last month the 66 W was not shutting off like it did for 3 years , drained the suv's battery because I didn't day it for 3 days. I'm using the same power cord for the new Mini 2 on the windshield now but I ran the cable under the door sill to the rear seat passengers 12volt USB power supply. They are off when the ignition is off. While attempting to pair the new camera ..I had 4 cameras in "my devices" on my iPhone.. even after using "forget this device " over and over. I deleted the Garmin Drive app off my iPhone, shut it off for 5 minutes and then downloaded the app again. I still haven't paired the old Mini 2 and the new Mini 2 yet to my phone. I'm going to pair them with the other discounted from power.and don't try to ""NAME"" them like ( front or back ) that added another device to my phone..5 minute hook up and 30 minutes of upset trying to pair them....After every update too.......

Thanks for the question. I haven't had any electrical issues that I've noticed. Also haven't heard of this before when I browsed reviews. I'll keep an eye out. So far it's been flawless for me.

Curious what the downside is to having on the side where he installed it.

You're right Rutgers. Probably wouldn't have been a big deal. But I found another reason to install on right side. When dropping car off for warranty work, tires, etc you can see how your car was driven. It's less visible to driver and usually completely unnoticed. I also found in settings how to turn off the very loud chime when it powers up on startup. That's been a nice relief. ;)
