Its great that this documentry was done while the British pilots are still with us. We learn from there experience and also learned how history has come in full circle. Thankyou for your duty and risking your lives and having to live with your great achievements and the memories that may haught you.

I regret not asking my dad about his experience in WWII. When I started going to the VA there were a lot of WWII vets. Now it is rare to find one. A handful of Korean vets. Still quite a few from Vietnam. But, more and more from the Middle East conflicts... My son served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I was lucky enough to serve just after the Viet Nam War.

Yes, the greatest generation. Something that will never happen again. Let us pray we don't squander their sacrifices with this current wave of thinking that seriously jepordizes their hard fought steps to a better but now possibly uncertain future.

Yes, indeed - we owe a great debt of never given gratitude to the British Nation, their young men, & old who gave their all, & saved the world from Hitler’s domination in the beginning of the 2nd world war, before the American nation stepped in & 0:13 with their ability to manufacture the weapons, aircraft, and navy - and in overwhelming numbers - thousands of young men & old, also able & willing to give their all, unitedly with the Russians, finally won what has become a trio of tenuous freedom
for the world. With China & their huge
resources making ominous noises, as another emergent world power, another world wide conflagration seems inevitable. With America now weakened by the incredibly most unAmerica government in its history, heading the way into a situation from which there is no escape, Our God in Heaven is running out of patience, with all the above nations moving away from Him, allowing the whole world to adopt Satanic ways of life,
Actual Freedom for the individual & families, citizens are now being
shackled by leaders & disaster looms.
      RETURN TO GOD &
HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. THE ONLY WAY TO PEACE &
HARMONY IN THE WORLD. WORLD LEADERS ARE LEADING THIS WORLD TO ITS END.

War is a most dreadful thing. However, it is best to remember, that War saved America from the clutches of the democrat party and their ungodly hold on slavery. It also ended the nightmare of imperial Japan, fascist Italy, nazi Germany, it ended English rule in America. For as long as satan is alive on the earth, well, there will always be a war somewhere. My uncle John was 19 and my Dad two years older in September 1939 when Britain declared war on Germany. We are Canadian, so as British subjects, and all-round Nazi haters, both signed up immediately with Canada's nascent Air Force.
Both wanted to be fighter pilots. They were shipped over to Britain immediately and assigned positions: uncle John for pilot training on Lancasters, not Spitfires; and my Dad to the medical corps because he had just graduated medical school.
In a way, my uncle John was fortunate. Of all the British bombers, the Lancaster was vastly superior in every way. But as a reminder of the danger of striking Nazi Germany when it was at the top of its powers, the odds of the pilot of a Lancaster bomber pilot surviving to complete his tour were 50/50.
My father ended up a battlefield surgeon, saving young men's lives - German or Allied, didn't matter -- in some of the most intense European conflicts.
That both survived is a miracle. Both went on to distinguished careers and happy families with lots of kids. But for a throw of the dice, it was just as likely neither would have returned. And the men portrayed in this documentary remember, as I do, how badly those who didn't make it home were missed in their communities.
After many years of peace and prosperity (Canada did not participate in the Vietnam Nam war, but they did in Desert Storm. When W decided to accept his neocon advisors' fatal advice and attack Iraq on trumped-up charges. Canada opted out of that big mistake, too.
As we in North America enjoy prosperity and no threat of invasion of our homeland, my generation (boomer) and the one after (Gen X) had no exposure to the ravages of war.
In recent years we have witnessed the bizarre and delusional hostility of Russia, ramped up by Putin, and now at the point where even after billions in aid, Ukraine is on its knees.
If Russia gets away with defeating and absorbing Ukraine, Putin will be emboldened to take back all the small East European countries and return them to their former role as vassals to their Russian masters.
Putin has announced without diplomatic embellishment his intention to restore Russia to its former glory under Stalin, when not even a million of Germany's best soldiers could defeat them.
The tiny Baltic states are anxiously waiting for Ukraine's defeat, because they know they will be next. And after them, the wealthy democracies of Western Europe are already trembling about their fate unless Putin is stopped.
Of course, only America can stop Russia, with the assistance of Canada and many others would join with the U.S. forces. Because we do not want our progeny to experience the nightmare existence of those who fell under Stalin's authority after the war ended.
The question is, are young men like my Dad and uncle prepared to sign up for battle with the Russian bear? Or have they been seduced by the false camaraderie all over the internet?
Every time our species faces an existential crisis, the result is the same: war. And every war since the beginning of the 20th century has been so lethal as to call into question the survival of our species.
The next war will be the last, in the sense that it will regress both sides to the horror of life in the Middle Ages. I'm hoping the best of us on all sides and reach a peaceful agreement, but at the same time realize that if we succeed, it will mark the first time our species was able to avoid war. The odds are not in our favor.

This is such a tall bill, I reckon we can never repay them what we owe them. But let's at least make sure that their Heroic Sacrifice is NEVER Forgotten and that we NEVER let Marxist Tyranny ever rise again and threaten our Freedoms like the Nazis did in World War 2 and the Communists did during the Cold War and are still doing today in the shape and form of the Chinese Communist/Fascist Dictatorship.
War Is Hell! Let us achieve Peace Through Strength so that the young Generations now just starting out on their Lives may live in the same Peace we have enjoyed since these Heroes slayed the biggest Beast of all.
We owe it to the RAF Heroes. We owe it to ourselves. And we owe it to Future Generations.
