Thank you so much for uploading this I'm the daughter of Miss Calgary and I couldn't be more proud of her, she is a great mom and still just as beautiful.
The first black Miss Canada #blackgirlmagic ! Did anyone clock the facial expression of the white woman 1st runner up?... shes convinced that shes won... cos the winner couldnt possibly be the black girl lol then she almost cries when she loses lol priceless
@thehoneyeffect Miss Toronto's nasty behavior was quite evident. She mouthed the words "Oh My God". This was a big occurrence because she was the first black woman to win Miss Canada. Jim Perry usually say at the end of each coronation, just before the credits roll, some comment referring to the beauty of each winner. In the present case, he said, "I know she will put her heart into it" Additionally, the end of the coronation was just before CTV National news @ 11 p.m. and at the end of the newscast Lloyd Robertson always mentioned and showed a clip of the announcement and coronation of the winner. That was not done when Juliette won which leads me to believe she was not welcomed. It is said, that she was not treated well during her reign. She went on, after her reign to become noh only a television hostess but also a journalist on City-TV. She subsequently left the station after several years and wrote the very successful and acclaimed book, "33 Million People in the Room: How to Create, Influence, and Run a Successful Business with Social Networking" and several other books ARTICLES (1) faze.ca/juliette-powell-working-her-way-to-the-top/ (2) www.vaniercollege.qc.ca/notable-alumni/2015/08/12/juliette-powell/ (3) www.picuki.com/media/2078760725301196493#.YOwDHPmhugg.link IMAGES www.google.com/search?q=juliette+powell+miss+canada&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwj97e34kN3xAhVOQKwKHa8PCBwQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=juliette+powell+&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQARgCMgIIADICCAAyAggAMgQIABAeMgQIABAeOgQIIRAKOgcIIxDqAhAnOgQIIxAnOgQIABBDOgcIABCxAxBDOggIABCxAxCDAToKCAAQsQMQgwEQQ1CtMFjM5QFglPsBaAJwAHgBgAGLAYgBpBySAQUxMS4yM5gBAqABAbABBcABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=vv_rYP2WKs6AsQWvn6DgAQ&bih=718&biw=412&client=ms-android-samsung&prmd=niv
Miss Canada sent its first delegate to Miss Universe in 1978 when Cleo Productions got the franchise rights. Because the winner that year, Catherine Swing, couldn't go, they sent first runner-up Andrea Ong in her place
That is Juliette Powell, she became a vj at MusiquePlus for about 4 years starting in 1992 and now she's a business reporter and has written a book about business. I have to say, as a vj, she was pretty bad...
I think you are not giving her enough credit. She was a host on Much Music and was a very astute interviewer. Borderline intellectual. And insanely attractive. Check out her interview with Dave Matthews.

The winner is beautiful. Is this a teen pageant?
S67906 miss Canada
There was a Miss Teen Canada pageant, it ended in 1990
@S67906 No this the MAIN pageant. With the winner going 2 Miss Universe. That is since 1979.
Miss Canada sent its first delegate to Miss Universe in 1978 when Cleo Productions got the franchise rights. Because the winner that year, Catherine Swing, couldn't go, they sent first runner-up Andrea Ong in her place
