    I just watched the previous tour videos and was so happy to see an update video pop up! What an amazing collection!
    Also I appreciate the way you capture these tours - let the person explain and present their collection, steady camera, subtitle for species/varieties - well done!

      Greetings SD Dan! Many thanks for taking time to watch the videos. Sorry about the quality/clarity of the Luiz' first video. I had a rendering problem that caused that. I was really happy to get it straightened out for this vid. Your comments about the filming and presentation truly means a lot to me and brought me a huge smile. If I had more time I'd get a little more fancy with the editing but I stay too busy tbh. Have a fantastic rest of your weekend!

  • @Bob-w2b8j
    @Bob-w2b8j 5 месяцев назад

    It seems like almost everyone who has jabos has them in pots. The only ones I've heard of being in the ground here in Florida are Sabara and maybe Grimal. Is there a reason why more people don't grow in ground? Are they too temperamental or is it some other reason?

    • @VirginiaFruitGrower
      @VirginiaFruitGrower  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Bob and thanks for your time watching. I think most people are mostly trying to closely control the growing conditions of their precious jabos at least until they are at at decent size to plant in ground. Yet many will still prefer to continue to grow them in pots long term. These are not like $30 apple trees that you can shrug off if they die. Early on a lot of these trees and even seeds were super expensive like upwards of $500+ for 1-3gallon trees. That's why lots of hard core growers really try their best to keep them happy.
      Jabos really much prefer acid growing conditions or they will not flourish. Sabara and Grimal are pretty tolerant of a lot of different growing conditions so they get planted a lot straight into the ground. One other reason is that at least for Sabara it was a very common variety. Red hybrid, Scarlet and many others are getting a lot more easy to source which is great.
