I like Sakimoto's music on this. It has a distinctly different flavor from previous games, yet it still feels like Gradius. This track is a great example.
Suddenly I imagine what would the scent be like if music could smell, and WOW! It's so purely epic, a unique experience conveying many emotions! (Music with suitable individual scent design or a reasonable applicable scent design in general media could be one of the greatest sensational and emotional inventions of our time!)
A funny thing happen to me a couple of days ago, I was playing Star Fox Zero and I in the speed section, yeah Star Fox has a speed section in it, of Sector Omega trying for a gold medal score and this track was playing and it match up with it.
Gradius VI Speed Zone will be unbelievably crazy X). 13 Obsticles, little diamond thingies, balls, trap doors, dangerous corned spots, bouncing flippers, 3 rotating platforms, pillars, hatches, up and down platforms like here, up and down pillars, spinning pattles, pinball flippers, and spinning wrecking balls. And at the end there will be diamonds that covered the whole space that you have to fire like non stop XD. now that's so crazy XD.

It sure does XD. And I agree the lowest speed zone is the one in Gradius 3 Snes as it has only one obstacle like trap doors X).
The many ships part is the most menacing part especially in high loops! But the music is cool!

The only speed zones worse than this were the one in Gradius 4 and ALL of Armed Police Unit Gallop.
