AOC, in your tenure in Congress you have sponsored 41 bills and only one of them made it to the floor. The rest are floundering in committees. I would consider you a DEI hire since you came into politics with no experience and have a dismal track record. If a DEI hire accomplished nothing then that hire was a mistake. Affirmative Action didn't work in the '60s and '70s and DEI hiring isn't working now. How about hiring according to skill sets, which span across race, demographics, income, etc., and choosing the right person for the job?

She says “you don’t have to hire that person” based on the results of a criminal background check exposing a job-related criminal record, thus disqualifying them from employment. This view suggests if someone doesn’t have the right list of red flags, be them legal or personality/skill related, to DISQUALIFY them from employment, then they would simply have to be hired. Nobody on this planet has an entitlement to any given position, you earn employment in the eyes of your potential employer. You can check all the boxes and still not be “the right fit” for a given work environment, and if they determine you to not be the best fit, then you’re not. Simple.

I'd be curious to see the rate of applicants by race. I only say this because I find myself somewhat intrigued by the numbers. You can't say that it's unfair if only men seek Congress, or 90% of applicants are white! Did no one take science? You have to have a variable. Now, if it's a 50/50 split then I grudgingly agree with the Congressman/Woman. Especially if it's concerning representation. E.G. if we have 48 pinto beans and 2 limas, how do you give 20 spots to the lima bean?
