Shift+G, select coplanar, along seam, or whatever else. Pro tip, use vertex groups to memorize selections
To add to this you can also rebind keys, I use this very often and bound it to ctrl + Mouse wheel, so I can increase and decrease selection very quickly.
Another useful selection tool is "select next element" which I bound to Shift + Scroll Wheel. When you select one edge, then a second edge, and then use this shortcut it will select the next edge for you based on your selection, so if you make a cylinder and select one edge, then select another edge with 2 edges between the selection and then use the shortcut it will select the next edge after a 2 edge gap.
(I'm not great at explaining things but hope this is useful!)
These videos are a reminder that I was good at blender and still can be recognized for stuff i thought was pointless, thank you for helping me feel worth it.

i work for so many people working on games, i make models for free so this helps so much
Sometimes when the surface your trying to select doesn't have a perfectly centered face its easier to use seams. This is works really well with organic or complex shaped you need to alter
You select the boundary edge of the surface you want to select then useshortcut "CTRL E" This creates seams. You need have a seam that isolates whatever surface you want to select.
When you have isolated the surface you want select press "L" while hovering over the surgace with your cursor it should select everything withing the boundary lines.

it is. if you hover over the UI buttons , it does have the keyboard shortcuts for that thing.
Yea, it does there's just too many that we kinda can't keep track of them sometimes, and even if you find one, if you don't use it often you could forget that shortcut exists.

When you are a pro you forget the simplest shift+a and then for ten minutes you question your sanity and capabilities only to realize half an hour later that you are in Pose mode, and you can't add objects while in there.
True story btw. Also that one time when I was trying to apply modifier in edit mode, and I didn't realize I was in edit mode because I turned the overlays off so it looked like object mode. So for 15 minutes I was trying to understand what I did to make permanent edit mode. Fun fun.

This is soo appreciated. Just want to do a fun little hobby project and trying to get info on doing specific things is like pulling teeth, always just a bunch of smug nerds telling you if you're not bothered to learn the whole program from scratch you don't *deserve* to know anything type nonsense. Finally someone who just conveys specific necessary info without pretense instead of telling you to model an effin lightsaber for the twelfth time.

people who use short keyboard like me u can adjust it in select tab on the top next to add file , edit ... and go to more or less and there u will find more and less button default in my blender 4 is ctr +numb + + or - use can use your own custom by clicking on of those by left click and choosing change shortcut

Select edge loop, mark seam, press L to select linked and in adjust last operation menu toggle seams. Lastly remove the seam
