Totally loving this journey along with you both. In all these times of doom and gloom it is so special to me to see that people can still enjoy life and nature and that's really what it is all about.
So, so, so excited by this! Thank you for taking us along on this wonderful adventure. Beautifully edited, as always, to a wonderful suite of music. Mega Gold Star to Ed for making dreams come true!!!
What a wonderful trip on the Thames, to see the cows, birds and wildlife along the way. Pure enchantment and can't wait for more, thank you Julia and Richard, and to Ed too.
Beautiful video. Thank you so much. I am from Isleworth and have always loved the Thames. Looking forward to part 2. And well done to Julia for her excellent boat handling skills and to Richard for his excellent filming skills. You make a really lovely couple!
Hi Julia & Richard, beautiful video, really well edited & great choice in music! How lovely of Ed to gift you the use of his river cruiser, what a generous person. This was lovely to see you both relaxed and just enjoying yourselves...I was sorry when the video ended...looking forward to episode two. Thank you so much for sharing and taking us with you. Take really good care of yourselves, stay well! Lots of love Kathy x 💖
WOW ! WOW ! WOW ! I did not want this video to end It was so exciting with great sound and beautiful scenery and Julia did a great job but all thanks to Ed for making this dream come true
A much needed get away for you both, it looked so peaceful, thanks for taking us with you. Looking forward to seeing the rest. Great editing you must of worked really hard to get this up so quickly. And thanks Ed for making this Happen.
That was superb Richard and I think that boat is a newer version of the one we used to hire. Brought back a lot of happy memories! I'm looking forward to the next one.
What a lovely peaceful video. I really did enjoy it. I would like to see what you fixed for your supper though....I'm nosey LOL. So nice of your friend To loan out his boat but Julia took to it like she did it every day. I couldn't tell she was nervous at all. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a Blessed day.
I love this! We went on one of these holidays in the early 70s when l was a child & you have resurrected many memories! Really like the music you add to your adventures & please show us more of your cooking or what it looks like when it’s ready, we have a campervan and l always want to see other people cooking & what meals they produce when they’re out and about!! 💙
Wonderful video, well filmed and presented as always. Took me back to 1979 when we went cruising on the Thames, but the locks were not push button back then. So tranquil, thanks for letting us join you.
That was soooo good, and I am sooooo envious. What a great guy is Ed, trusting you with his ' Pipedream' . It brought back memories or me of a day trip on a narrowboat on the Thames from Datchet towards London. I was about 18 ish and we were group of approxinately 12. Much drink was partaken ( rather dangerous but at 18....!!). Only a couple fell in , me not being one of them . I think we ended up at Hampton Court bridge. Really looking forward to the next leg
I'm so excited for you two. Wow! how nice of Ed to loan you his boat. Such a nice person. I LOVE boating since I learned all about boating from my dad. The Bow, the Stern, port, starboard, piloting instead of driving. Over here you have to have a license to power any kind of boat. You both had a wonderful first day of cruising. Wishing you a wonderful week of cruising. I am sooooo jealous. I miss boating so much.
I really enjoyed this trip along the Thames and I am so glad the two of you were able to have the opportunity to have the use of the boat. The drone footage was a bonus. Great video Richard thankyou.
I was excited when I thought the owner of the boat was going to pilot for you and my excitement went through the roof when I learned you were taking the boat by yourselfs.. Can't wait for the next!
Great video Richard so different from what you usually do, how amazing to have that experience and the end part where you both end up parked in such a lovely location, just a great Ending. 👍
What a lovely first video of your trip with beautiful music. Julia, you did an amazing job piloting the fabulous boat! Really looking forward to the coming episodes. Star quality filming and editing Richard 💜
That was SO lovely, beautifully filmed/edited and with the perfect sound track. It brought back many happy memories of my cruising days on the Thames and, yes, has made me think...maybe I should get another one! What a gem Ed is! (Another Ed 😄). Knowing Julia, I felt and understood her anxiety but, of course, she was brilliant at handing the boat. Really looking forward to the next episodes. Wonderful 👍
Oh, I was so disappointed when the video ended! I really loved and enjoyed every minute, what a joyful experience you were both having, and so lovely to be able to share some of it. Beautifully filmed, and perfect music to accompany. I just love your adventures, and for me, this is one of your best! Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Thank you Richard and Julia for sharing your holiday with us, a well deserved break for you both. It looks lovely. I want one of those river cruisers now!
What an interesting and clever design that boat has! You are so lucky to have a friend willing to lend you his boat for a few days cruising on the river Thames (tims not tames).
Looks like a great trip - and a lovely boat too! Having been on the Norfolk broads before, I’m quite used to the wheel at the front or the middle. I find it much easier to steer to be honest and it’s also better when it rains 😜 I notice that the speed limit is 8 kph which is 5mph - that’s about twice the average canal boat speed so I can see why you might have thought the gin cruisers were thundering past!
Beautiful boat. 31.57 a Red Kite, from nearly extinct in the U.K. and then protected to the point of becoming a nuisance. Plant more trees and shrubs in your garden for the birds lower down the food chain to hide from the kites. The blackbirds sound the alarm and then get on the ground among the shrubs but I've not seen a Blue Tit in my garden for months. :(
Great video. Beautiful footage of the Thames. Look forward to videos of the rest of your boating holiday. It is so very nice of Ed to lend his boat to you and Julie. Love to see the layout of the interior. Enjoy boating.
Beautiful cruise on the river. You have the most amazing generous friends. Filming perfect. Thank you so much for taking us with you. Loved the cows in the river. Well done with the lock.
We are about 12 minutes from the Thames if we ran fast... And often go down for a walk along by Mapledurham. I have done up to Pangbourne and back with our super powered Daughter. 1973 I did a week up and down with the School, It rained most days and on the way back from Oxford the water level caught up with us. Me showing my age. Sometimes it is even more relaxing to see someone else do it. Weir d person. Love David and Lily also Katie.
I lived in Oxford for about 30 years so I know the Thames well and have walked most of the Thames Path but missing a few bits.Abingdon use to be the county town of Berkshire but in 1974 it was moved into the new Oxfordshire which was extended over it's previous Mercian boundaries although in 18 something it had jumped the Thames to take in the now inner Oxford suburb of Osney.
Great video. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip. I’ve hired this kind of boat many times on the Broads where they are affectionately known as bathtubs. 😃
I feel so relaxed after watching that, it reminded me of a TV series many years ago called ' The Flower Of Gloucester ' Lovely to see a red kite flying free and not a new housing estate in sight x
This was lovely Richard & Julia. How exciting - what a fantastic adventure. A superb video & great to see you both so happy. Your photography was outstanding! 🚤 😊 💜
Lovely video Richard and Julia, But I cant believe Julia didn't know that we have fish in our rivers. The reason that the little fish jump out of the water is not because they want to have a look around,,,its because a bigger fish is chasing them so that it can eat them, its the same with the lovely Kite who flying around, its not looking at the splendid view its looking for something to eat.
You LUCKY LUCK pair. What a lovely boat. When you said about wing mirrors, how about a rear looking video camera with a small monitor in front of the helm. Maybe the fish were being chased by a Pike. A lovely boat, I have not seen one like that before. If it's pouring with rain you wouldn't be able to poke your head out to look behind so yes, maybe mirrors might work.Video editing seemed so much better than before as well, not that there was anything wrong with your previous videos, and the music fitted nicely. Keep it up!
