Vancouver Canada and Toronto are two of the most expensive city's in the world to live in. The housing market here is also insane in certain parts of Canada.
Seems to me like houses stop being houses after the $5-7 million price tag marks, because all of these houses were practical, and had very little stupideaningless things I'm them. Meanwhile the 50 mil house is only 50 mil because you get a private heli pad and 3 tennis courts. Ludwig should check out tiny homes and van conversions. I think he'd like them.

As a Canadian from Alberta who is living in Edmonton for university. If I was given 5 million from a genie, I’d say the last place I’d ever buy a house is in this city, cause Ludwig is right, there’s literally nothing to do here.

18:50 I have always had one in my room for some reason and it has two purposes. 1. When my siblings come in my room, they can sit on it instead of on my bed, then stare at me, then leave without shutting my door 2. When I have clothes that aren't clean enough to go in the closet, but not dirty enough to go in the laundry basket... that's where they go.

And we have many other attractions. Overall Edmonton is a sick place to live.
Villa with a vineyard in Tuscany, I think there is no better value for money than a Villa in the Italian countryside. It's affordable enough with a 5 mil budget, that you could buy a few prancing horses, and take delivery at headquarters in Maranello, with just a 1 hour 46 minute drive. Best location in Italy hands down.
These houses are so much better than the ones that are 10x the price lmao. Just feel like with $5 mil, you’re getting a really decent house without all the ridiculous rich person stuff. These houses feel expensive, but still like they could be lived in.
Man, i just want to take a moment to appreciate these videos. As someone who is really interested in architecture, this is really enjoyable to watch. I hope you upload more of these videos :)
It's funny, this episode and the ~500k one (except for the new york apartment that was a shoebox) were actually the most livable homes I feel like. The super expensive ones, like 30 million, were so cold and hotel-like..
I did the math of how much wealth you would need to justify the 3rd apartment. So rent of 25k a month ends up being 300k a year in rent. Generally speaking, a sustainable withdraw rate from of money from investments is 4% (1/25th) a year. So to pay for just the apartment, you would need 25x300k just for the rent. That means, to justify living in that Japanese apartment, you need to have a total wealth of at lest $7,500,000. And that would just be to cover the rent and nothing else.
I love the first house tour. I love seeing people who don't know too much about houses sell houses. It's genuine, it's like a customer selling a product to another custromer. Also, I can think of a few of my friend's houses that are better than the second one. I've had nicer living rooms in airbnbs
I think the thing that Ludwig forgets is that rich people really aren't humble anymore after a certain point/rich people just AREN'T humble so they gotta have their house be more interesting than they are.
