  • This week Katy and I travel down the Chesapeake Bay from Solomons Island, MD to Deltaville, VA. It is the second leg of our journey towards Norfolk, VA. We sail downwind and against current... our first experience sailing with steep waves. Wow, the Chesapeake really delivered! We get scared of the wave height that builds as the tides shift, but manage to laugh our way through.

I just discovered your channel a few days ago, I’m starting from the beginning, I’ve got to say your boat looks freaking awesome. I love the allied boats and yours looks like it did in its old glory days! You and Katie seem like super cool people, I hope to see you out on the water one day

Hey Damon! Thanks so much!! We sure love our Seawind 😊 Where are you located?

@@SailingSeawind I’m currently located in East Texas, just discovered the whole cruising sailing lifestyle about a year ago from RUclips. I’ve been dreaming and preparing ever since, I built my own sailing dinghy and just recently finished it and have been learning to sail on the lake here and plan to use it as a dinghy when I can get the courage and time to sell the house to get an old boat like what you did😂

Take that dream and run with it man! Plenty of good old boats out there and building/learning to sail on a dinghy is a really great way to get to know sailing and working on boats! Hope to cross paths someday! If you ever have any questions feel free to reach out!

Katy, I love that mustard-colored jacket you're wearing. In addition, and contrary to what the haters will say, I think that no moppets or teddy bears were killed for its manufacture.

Thank you and yes no animals were harmed in the making of this video 😂

0:33 - Katie’s smile at the thought of that first cup of coffee is great. And I can definitely relate!

You guys are the best! Hope you keep it up you’ll be big. Katie is the sweetest, I can never understand a word but it doesn’t even matter! :)

Thank you so much!! :) Our passion for storytelling is burning strong and hearing things like this make us even more motivated to share our adventure through this wild life! She sure is the sweetest and I'm (Parker) working very hard in every video to make her voice heard. She speaks so softly and so the obvious option is a better directional microphone. Hopefully we will be able to invest in some better equipment in the future!

You need a mic with a wind muff .. and flip the video on that one camera. But I've really been enjoying going on your adventure! Been watching from the beginning on the Erie Canal. I am hoping to do that west bound this summer. I look forward to seeing you make it to the Carib.

Thank you, Ron! Yes we eventually need an upgrade in camera/microphone equipment if the channel really gains momentum. The passion for storytelling is burning so hopefully that will follow! We are currently in The Bahamas so soon(ish) the videos will catch up and you'll see some crystal clear Bahamian water! Good luck with the Erie Canal this summer! Its a really great adventure!

Those are some big waves on the way down to Deltaville, camera doesn't do justice, does it?!

Yes they are the biggest we had ever experienced! We think they were about 10 foot

Just wait till you encounter a squall. No both of you are doing fine. It is just another experience to put in your memories. Good times out on the water.

We encountered squalls on Lake Erie a few times and recently some very strong fronts while at anchor. Even had an unoccupied sailboat drag straight at our bow during one of them! That was fun...! You are exactly right. All are experiences and great memories. Thanks, John :)
