Not how we did it as a kid growing up in CO! The new kits look really cool and safer. Ah yes, the BULL and his job!!!! The value of the bull has gone crazy and it’s always a risk to breed. Last time, we went shopping at the bovine sperm bank. That was an experience!☺️😆😗 I am moving back to highlands and hopefully waigu cattle from angus. The revenue ratios are higher. I have learned a lot. First, you don’t want the bull to break something. His contribution is more valuable than the beef! Second, I did not know you can centrifuge sperm. The male sperm weighs differently than the female sperm. So now we can select the gender of the calf. Third, a cow can donate a significant number of eggs beyond what she would normally use in pregnancy. These are frozen in nitrogen until needed. It all helps when you’re trying to develop breeding stock on a budget rapidly.
