not only is she beautiful but she teaches those kids life lessons and Is a mother figure to them and sometimes when times are tough sometimes in life we need someone to help us pick up the pieces like a puzzle sometimes there are good days and bad days but good always outnumbers the bad

I look back now, and people used to hate on Daphne so much for her smug attitude after Angelo died, but I think the problem was that Daphne was not mature enough to understand other people’s ways of processing grief. There is no right way of doing it, and everyone deals with grief differently. Either that or it seems Daphne wasn’t taught. People on and off the show just wanted to be angry with her, but no one seemed to explain that Regina is feeling just as much as Daphne is! She’s just processing it by keeping busy, bc she can’t bear to sit by herself with the pain of the loss. Doesn’t mean Regina doesn’t care anymore, or never cared about Angelo.

I found how Daphne acted out of character. All of the sudden she was no longer Daphne, and she did not even like Angelo so why act like that? the writers messed up on this story line. I felt they could have done much better. this was so cli'que.

I know right after Angelo death, Daphne is still processing of his death and his grief of sadness, this’s so sad and tragic

      So well said.
I remember when my grandma was in the nursing home, my dad & his sisters weren't all emotional. One who is a pharmacist asked to see the list of meds the staff was giving her.
When we came home, my momremarked my dad's family's not that emotional. Almost condemning them for not having a different reaction.
Grief is a tough thing & some people just need to remain busy.

Daphne is someone who thrives in identity, community, and structure. It’s made abundantly clear when she gets a cochlear implant, is stripped of Deaf culture, and is left in a free fall by the Kennishes in Ecce Mono. Between seasons one and three, Daphne loses everything. She finds out Regina lied the switch for years. Regina loses the ability to sign, which makes life at home a lot more exhausting because she gets no rest from lip reading. I don’t think she would’ve taken Angelo’s death anywhere near as hard if he weren’t learning to sign and trying to be a better parent after finding out about everything that happened with Regina. In three seasons, she loses so much of her security and stability, and sooner or later, she was going to crack.
She’s vulnerable to not so good guys after losing her stability. Jeff never should’ve gotten involved with her and she never would’ve gotten into so much trouble with the law if she hadn’t met Jace. From day one of the series, Daphne was going downhill. Furthermore, a lot of viewers forget what the woman at the police station said. Daphne and Bay would’ve been punished twice as hard if it came out that Bay lied. It wasn’t like before where Daphne alone would’ve faced the consequences. Bay never should’ve tried to lie in the first place. It would’ve been a better plot to get a lawyer, plead insanity, stay in a psych hospital, and have Daphne stay in the satellite program while continuing outpatient treatment.

FYI, Gallaudet University is an all Deaf college. Everyone uses ASL, in and out of the classrooms.
