I would consider playoff implications and impact on winning. Lebrons 45 pt special in game 6 v the Celtics to evade elimination and save the Heat era was the most spectacular I’ve ever seen.
Celtics was old af lol who cares
@@l1ltreztop1z hahahahahah jordan was playing an old af celtics team too AND HE LOST. Jordanfans are brain dead
you definitely haven't watched sports for that long then. lebron is one of the most choked players in the playoff moments.
Facts
@@ypww748 and he has moments where he came through. No player is 100% in those moments
That 2018 finals game 1 was something else. One man against the greatest team ever, against the refs, against his own team mates and coach and while being in Year 15. Just absolutely epic and heart breaking.
The refs was on Cleveland side tho
That warriors team was not the greatest team ever
@@bme4449 it is to Lebron fans.. it makes him seem more important than he really is.
@William Brabston In 2018 the warriors almost didn't win before making it to the finals. In 2017 there's an argument for best team of all time though.😂
Not the greatest team..You are absolutely a GSW fan. They were up 3-1 but still beaten in 7 games, that's the main reason they're not the greatest team.
How no one mentioned Giannis game 6 2021 Finals ?
50 points -15 rebounds - 5 blocks !
They don’t rate Giannis, no surprising
Literally one of the goat finals games esp cos he hit like 90% of his 20 free throws
I guess he ain’t American enough lol. This list is a joke.
50 in close out is top 5 no question. Since it’s all-playoffs, Dirk 48 with no missed shots up there too
when it's layups and dunks it doesn't have the same feeling as someone hitting shots from everywhere on the court....same thing with steph and his 3 point shots. We remember the games where a player makes unbelievable shots like they are just locked in a zone...no emotions. Giannis mean mugs too much and steph showboats way too much
Kyrie & Lebron performances after going down 3-1 to the warriors are all time great to me. The impact and presence of those two was something I had never seen b4
as great as they were the other team was completely falling apart, offensively and defensively.
Kyrie and Lebron had no proper defenders.
@@Jon_Chhanthe warriors were up 3-1 still.
@@emorynaj13 yeah but the warriors weren't healthy Iggy and Bogut got hurt only reason why the cavs won that game 5 cause if Bogut and Iggy don't get hurt in that game Cavs was still gonna go home in 5 without Draymond playing
I liked how casual and also informative this segment was. Not just arguing but a little give and take. It was fun! 😅
BECAUSE THE LIST IS FLUID!
no cap also how they’re just being fans instead of analysts
Just Molly being annoying
@@kyleinggo it’s fluid…😂
@@kyleinggo 😂😂😂
Tim Duncan getting robbed of a quadruple double game IN THE FINALS. Not being mentioned once is crazy. 22 points 20 rebounds 10 assists 8 blocks. And if you go back and watch he really had 10 blocks but just didn’t get credited. Not to mention only 6 quadruple doubles have ever occurred with 0 in the postseason.
OMG. I was waiting for this comment.
he did it on the number 1 defense too, which is wild.
I knew this comment was in here somewhere. One of the best performances ever
Leave it to espn to forget about the spurs 😭 😭
There were only 4 not 6!
I agree with Tim. That LeBron game vs the Celtics Game 6 in 2012 was wild. Can’t forget his mean mug too…
he became a meme
I don't think there's ever been more pressure on one individual for a non finals game in NBA history.
If he fails to win that, he goes from the GOAT conversation to potentially not even being in the top 10.
The disrespect for an Immigrants 50 point close out game to Win a championship is crazy
@@basicLife7721 That is in my personal top 5. And don’t forget that man hyperextended his leg the series before and still balled out. Giannis had the Game 4 block, the alley oop And-1 in Game 5, and the 50 piece Game 6. Giannis was legendary!
That's the one for me too, because of the pressure and the way his legacy would've tanked after that.
Kevin durant game 5 vs Bucks himself and Jeff green vs the eventual champions was the greatest game I’ve ever seen
49 points on 70 percent shooting 17 boards 10 assists 3 steals 2 blocks
Facts
The fact nobody mentioned Giannis’ 50 point game is insanity
Cause the games that they mention are more spectacular than that
@@MitsuboshiHikaru a 50 point to win championship was not spectacular?
more spectacular then giannis going for 50pts 17rebounds and 5 blocks?
@@adventurek2066 it is but not better than any of those games imo
@@anddanny2263 and 17/17 from the line
I am so happy they are giving credit to Steph's game 4 performance... They needed every single one of those 47 with their backs against the wall and changed the whole momentum of that series
MJ, Kobe and Bron need their own top 5 performances because waaaayyy too many to count among the 3
MJ and Bron kinda ruin these types of lists because realistically they would fill all top 5 spots with their numerous goat performances
Wade's games 4, 5 and 6 performances against the mavs in 2006 can easily top any list imo...he doesn't get enough credit for that imo
Iverson cooked all of them extremely bad, definitely roasted MJ. Kobe used to get smoked though on the smoker slowly for hours AI was cooking him!
@@cashflow5873 how is that relevant to the topic?
@@jeremiahsymonette4781 yeah cause he got like 30 something FT that don't count
Curry cooking Boston in Game 4 last year has to be up there and Giannis cooking up the Suns in game 6 too🔥
What's so crazy about Jimmy's performance is he did it against 3 All-NBA defensive team level players. (Jrue, Giannis, and Lopez)
Yeah, he was amazing but that was some terrible coaching. Miami's best offensive players are injured. Just double Jimmy. It is too easy of a decision.
@@semi6544 you can’t double because we were hitting shots
@@ReturnOfWhom - Were they? The rest of the team only shot 40% for the game. The 2nd leading scorer was Bam and he needed 16 shots to score 15 points.
No, they weren't making shots.
Even if they were making shots, make them prove it over and over again.
Jimmy has proven he can beat you over multiple years of playoff history.
They didn't even try to make Giannis take up the task of being the primary defender.
Bud made no adjustment to slow Jimmy or the Heat.

The ultimate question is whether or not the best performances can result in a loss.
@@tarikwalters854 Isiah made it to the list with a loss...so yeah
@@thedudeunchained7583 Yeah but he rescinded it for that reason.
Kobe’s 40 point game 1 against the 2009 magic. Mamba was straight cooking them. Unstoppable
I hate Kobe Bryant.
Greek Freak's closeout game in the Finals vs The Suns would've made SAS list if he was American.
Man if you rewatch that game you can tell nobody on Milwaukee had it going Giannis refused to lose
I forgot about that one. That has to be on the list. Maybe an HM
Facts.
That game should have definitely been on the List.
You notice that most of these big/remarkable games by individuals, their teams took a L.
The team he beat had no business in the finals. Wasn't really that impressive compared to what's in the list, American or not.
JJ knowledge basketball and ability to articulate himself whilst giving excellent analysis is so impressive and he's my favorite!!!
Definitely...refreshing

LBJ 25 straight and 29 of the last 30. That was the day that I finally felt comfortable calling him King James because that Pistons team was real

@@colin24447 it was the eastern conference finals how were the pistons not like that 🤔
The best playoff performance I’ve ever seen was Damian Lillard’s 55/10/6 vs Nuggets 2021. 12 threes, a playoff record in a loss. The most insane shot making I’ve ever seen down the stretch, single-handily kept them in the game by making clutch three after clutch three. Shame the rest of the team let him down in the end and we lost so nobody even knows it. By far the highest ts% in a playoff game with 50 or more points
Dame’s among the most underrated players in NBA history that kind of efficiency at his size just doesn’t happen.

One of the most respectful and knowledgeable takes in this show’s history. I have two mentions to give, I like all answers given in this take. 1st Larry Bird’s Triple Double in the ‘86 finals to win the championship (game 6). 2nd Tim Duncan’s almost Quadruple Double (22pts 20reb 10ast 8blk) in the ‘03 finals to win the championship (game 6).

Honorable mention- LeBlock vs Warriors after coming back 3-1 CLEVELAND!!!!!!!!!!
LeBron's game 6 vs the 73-win Warriors when he dropped 41 points with 18 straight is mad underrated.
Yes the refs were on that game.

2017 1st round game 3: Cavs vs pacers . Bron had 41pts 13rebs 12ast in the win after being down 26 at half. Still the largest comeback win in playoff history
People seem to forget KD’s 49 point 17 rebound triple double vs the fully loaded Bucks. Sure they lost the series but a 49 point triple double is very impressive especially in the playoffs.

I would say Giannis' 2021 performance not just a scoring masterpiece but he was also stellar on defense🤩😍🏀, an honorable mention at minimum, as it was a closeout game resulting in a CHAMPIONSHIP🏆.

Sensational game, even as a Laker fan I was in awe watching live. And then that step over Lue sealed the Lakers fate that night. Incredible. That's why AI is a hall of famer.
Yes That was INSANE
I commented this one too bro
Steve Nash's swollen eye performance in game 4 in the 2010 Western Conference Semifinals against the Spurs was a classic moment. Suns won that game, swept the Spurs, and Nash got over the Spurs playoff hurdle. He was finally able to eliminate the Spurs in the playoffs.
This is peak Stephen A. Love it;
A. I. Against the lakers. Whew. That was a game.
Yup 48 in game 1
Mask Lebron was Epic. 🔥. I have that game saved on my flash drive, with all the games SAS had on his lists. Imagine one day your kids asking you whose MJ or Lebron. 😢
Steph Curry game 4, 43pts vs Boston in a must win finals game, being down 2-1 on the road also against the team that won a DPOY.

i will never forget lebron game 1 of the 2018 nba finals. It was the most perfect basketball performance i had ever scene. i remember thinking i can’t imagine anyone has ever been better than this guy.
Magic's performance as a rookie in Game 6 in 1980 should be #1
Must be 47 years old talking like that
MAGIC AS A ROOKIE T0 WIN CHAMPIONSHIP EASY #1
Magic at 1 for sure. Isaiah shouldn’t even be there lol. Got number 3 for an ALMOST win? Lol bc of an ankle? Lol terrible.
nah
Rookie AND playing center against Robert Parish…
Tim Duncan QUADRUPLE DOUBLE to close out the Nets in 6 for the CHAMPIONSHIP: 21PTS, 20REB, 10BLKS, 10AST (Yes, it was a quad-double as two blocks have already been proven on video to not have been counted for Duncan)
Yea but you have to look at the circumstances. Stephens A's list was games when players were injured/sick or backs were against the wall. Duncan literally had no pressure against the Nets. They were supposed to win
HMs that he didn't list:
Game 6 Klay 2015 v. OKC
Game 6 Dame Time 50 piece + series winning game winner
Jimmy Butler last night
Those 3 alone have to be in the conversation
Jordan's 63 points (the all time playoff scoring high in NBA history) against the 86 Celtics with Bird, Mchale, Parish, Johnson, etc. is the greatest individual performance I've ever seen since watching the NBA starting in the early 80s. I've never seen anything like it before or since. He was so much better than everybody on that court (including Bird) that it was laughable. He looked like he was an alien from another planet out there. I've still got that game on a VHS tape. The younger generation doesn't even know what that is! LOL
In his second season after missing a large part of the season due braking a bone in his foot
Dame’s 55?
Giannis 50 in the 2022 finals! Also I think Lebron’s game 7 vs the Celtics in 2018 is so underrated. He CARRIED that team through sheer willpower in the ultimate defensive slugfest
Steph's game 4 last year in the FINALS to save the series has to be in there for sure.
Exactly that performance is legendary.
LOVE THE ENERGY ⚡️ OF SMITH
The greatest NBA playoff performance I've seen is Damian Lillard vs Nuggets 2021. If you've seen it you know and then maybe Jimmy Butler last night!
This exactly what I thought, when it happened Stephen A said it was the best playoff performance he ever saw lol, switch up is hilarious
I liked the Dame Time performance against OKC better because he scored 50 points and the last 3 came off the buzzer beater over PG13 and waving off Russ
That was an insane playoff performance but Jimmy was even better
Was searching for this comment before I made it myself, the next day they were hysterical, now it’s not top 5?lol laughable 🤦🏽♂️
@@jonathanwatson1908 I liked it too especially because his team won not just the game but the series with that shot, but if we’re talking about individual performance I think that 55 he dropped was sensational.

Magic Johnsons 42 pts, 15 rebs, 7 ast, 3 stls and 1 blk anytime would be awesome. But he he subbed Kareem, the best player and he WAS A ROOKIE. That is the best performance ever.
Lillard has some masterpieces too
MAN! SAS is made for TV! Pure entertainment. Thats a great List. The BAMS took me out! And his reactions with the lack of timing from the editors to give him the numbers is absolute comedy.

Stephen A is just entertaining to watch!
Isn't Giannis 50 piece to close out an honorable mention?
Thank you for reminding me, that has to be in the conversation. I have to rethink my top 5 and it's close
Dame’s 55 should be #1
I cannot believe that Gianni’s 2021 game 6 nba finals performance wasn’t mention by non of you guys, 50 pts, 14 reb, 5 blocks, with one of the most impressive defensive plays of all time at the end of the game and getting the W for the nba championship

For that list inverse the order. 2 were losses.
Not mentioning Tim Duncan's quad dub is crazy!
I’m taking LeBrons game 6 in 2012 over his game one in 2018 simply because they won the series in 2012
Id be even keel on both of them had the Cavs been able to win game 1

@@tarikwalters854 I mean 6th seed Rockets with Hakeem beat the 60+ win Magic with Shaq, Penny and crew. Pistons in '04 with no top 50 players beat Lakers with 3 top 20 players all time including a prime/near prime Shaq and Kobe. Dirk and a bunch of old players and nobodies beat Bron, Wade and Bosh. This was a great segment
One bad thing that happened last night was Giannis coming back. I didn't want him to come back at all for the simple fact that the dude is injured and he's so, so disrespected. Yesterday, just before the game they cut a clip of Giannis misting 2 free throws in practice and they put that on TV just to humiliate the gut. They just get the part they want and put it on ESPN. The ugliness of these people in unmatched.
You find people here trashing Giannis, saying his teammates are not appreciated and yet Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday are getting paid more money than Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid, Luka, Booker, Mitchell, Jokic...To discredit Giannis, you find people saying Jrue is the most UNDERRATED player...Just look at how Devon Booker is carrying the Suns. Just look at how Jaylen Brown is helping Tatum. Just look at how Jamal Murray is helping Jokic. And remember nobody talks about Booker, Jaylen Brown and Jamal Murray. It's always Giannis teammates not being appreciated enough. If I were Giannis, I would come in, do my job and go home.
I personally didn't want him to come back at all. In fact, I wanted him to call it a year. Even if they beat the Heat it still won't change the fact that I didn't want Giannis to come back.
How can Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday score only 14 points each? And we are here praising these dude every single day.
Giannis 50 piece??
Lebrons 51 against that warriors team in the finals was an absolute JOKE. He was unstoppable. I know he lost but that was a masterful 50 piece
Stephen A be one of those people you don't want to follow after a class presentation 😂
There are two ways to look at this for me. Either you look at the impact of the performance which pretty much turns it into a list of best Finals games rather than just looking at the individual performance alone. I think the list with that turns out as:
1. Magic 42 and 15 in game 6 of the Finals hopping in at center
2. Jordan's 55 to go up 3-1 against the Suns after playing 57 minutes of a 3 OT thriller the game before
3. LeBron's game 6 against the Warriors in 2016 with 41, 11 and 8 to tie the series
4. Giannis' closeout game 6 with 50 in the Finals to avoid going to game 7 in Phoenix
5. Duncan's closeout game 6 against the Nets that should have been a quadruple-double
Honorable mentions would be Jordan's last game with 45, Shaq's 41 in game 6 in 2000, Steph's game 4 last year, Bron's game 7 in 2013 and 2016 against the Spurs and the Warriors, Kobe's 38 against the Celtics in game 5, Worthy's 36 point triple double in game 7.
But if you look at the performance alone rather than the moment and the win, the list for me would be:
1. Dame 55 and 10 with the greatest shooting performance in history
2. Jordan's 63 against the Celtics
3. Bron's 25 straight against the Pistons
4. Hakeem's 49 and 25 with 6 blocks in game 6
5. Durant's 49 point triple double against the Bucks
I think those 5 games are the best basketball ever played despite 3 of them being in losses and none being in the Finals.
Think you should separate best performances for losses and wins.
Lebron 51 in game 1 of 2018 finals was the best performance I’ve ever seen
Ben Wallace wasn’t on that team that lost to Lebron
1. Michael Jordan 1986 First Round vs Celtics - 63 points (Larry Bird in Awe)
2. Lebron James 2012 ECF Game 6 vs Celtics - 45 points, 15 rebounds (Killer Instinct Lebron)
3. Magic Johnson 1980 Finals vs 76ers - 42 points, 15 rebounds (Magic as Center)
4. Lebron James 2007 ECF Game 5 vs Pistons - 48 points (25 Straight Points, 29 of the last 30)
5. Michael Jordan 1997 Finals Game 5 - 38 points (Flu Game)
Lebron game in 2018 finals was the best game I’ve ever seen. Even tho they lost. MJ 63 lost the game too

A few corrections: 1. I'd relace Lebron's 25 straight points with his game 6 against Boston. 2. I'd take away the flu game from MJ and replace it with another one from a different player (maybe a Giannis close out game, KD's 49 point game, this recent Jimmy Butler one or another older game like Bill Russell's 30 point, 40 rebound game)
What about Game 6 Klay in 2016 against OKC? Dame 50 piece with the series winning 3

Larry Bird game 6 1986 finals against the Rockets; 29-11-12 with 3 steals and had complete control of the game offensively and defensively. Many who watched that game said it was the greatest display of baketball greatness they'd ever witnessed.
Magics performance Vs Philly is my best performance. Not many votes on this game seeing it was 43 years ago.
As a ROOKIE...to step up in an unfamiliar position when their center was hurt..to drop 42/15/7 on the road is the most spectacular of the spectaculars to me. It was that game where I knew...whenever Magic was on the court...anytime/anywhere....the Lakers had a chance at a W.
I'm sorry flue game. Isn't better than the Boston LeBron game when hhe was gonna be eliminated
