Honor Magic 6 Pro Review | The Android iPhone?

- Reviewing the Honor Magic 6 Pro, a global Samsung S24 Ultra rival and iPhone 15 Pro Max mimic with Squircle camera and serious gaming grunt. I've been testing the Honor Magic 6 Pro as my full-time phone for a week and here's my final verdict.

This near 7-inch phone's camera tech dominates that back end, and it's a capable shooter in any conditions. Even night photography isn't a hassle for the Honor Magic 6 Pro. You've got a 180MP zoom lens, which means decent telephoto shots in lower light, plus 4k video recording.
Gamers will also be happy with the performance and battery life here. The Honor Magic 6 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so even Genshin Impact and the most demanding games can play with a respectable frame rate. What's unexpected is the fact that Magic OS has improved, although the Honor Magic 6 Pro also takes influence from the iPhone 15 series with its floater selfie cam shenanigans and iOS features.
The rest of those specs aren't surprising. As well as stereo speakers, the Honor Magic 6 Pro boasts a premium AMOLED screen and plenty of storage. So if you're after a premium phone like the S24 Ultra or iPhone 15 Pro Max, check this out!

Copying iOS isn’t really a bad thing for me. An iPhone user who has a soft spot for Honor. Very tempted now.

@@daleycarterit's actually a very good feature. One of those features that are going to be implemented in most phones in the next few years. Not only does it help with eye strain, but it's also fairly cheap to implement. Also, as the technology improves you are looking at great eye care levels of protection. Is just how dimming your monitors were seen as a gimmick when it first started and then it was a standard across the board.

Man I have the S24U and been seeing a few videos of this phone. That beautiful screen, UI and clever animations would make any iphone and samsung fanboy envious. I'm hoping next years line up of samsung can follow in this direction. One UI can use a face-lift

Just FYI GBoard lets you adjust the keyboard so you can add a little bit of space under the bottom to prevent the gesture problem
Pulling down the notificationbar from the middle of the screen was the last thing holding me back from buying the Honor Magic 5 Pro. Now that this is out of the way Magic 6 Pro here I come!!

I've had the Magic 5 Pro since August and love it. For the £40pm i pay for it on Vodafone i don't think there's a better phone out there for the money.
Is Google still ban?
There's no Google ban on Honor, just Huawei (even though they're the same company). If, like me, you loved Huawei phones then this is perfect.

7:36 can you add more apps in that shortcut? (like xiaomi you can select all apps) or only allows a maximum of 4?

@@rikiminajthe front camera is as bad as it looks in all the reviews where people take their pictures but it will let you check if you've got something in your teeth without needing a mirror😂
@@rikiminaj pretty trash I can't lie. Though I just turn the phone around for selfies and the portraits are amazing if you do it that way (much better than a normal selfie cam)

I bought the Honor Magic 5 Pro last year. It runs on the MagicOS 7 series, it's now March 2024 and I am still waiting for it to be updated to MagicOS 8.0 which is based on Android 14. Any idea when it will happen ? When a new model is launched, there will be a lot of info on the technical aspects of the phone. After buying the phone then you realised when it comes to the upgrade to the OS can be a frustrating experience, more so when there is zilch information from the company.

Does it still stutter in video apps like Odysee or third party RUclips Clients like Newpipe when on 120Hz High mode?
Magic 5 Pro went to super stuttery with 30Hz on those. Makes video apps other than RUclips as good as useless if you want to read comments or have the video playing in a little video.

Wait is honor back to using android? Amd google play ect? The last honor i has was the 20 pro and they was going to use there own softwear after and never bought another honor but that 20 pro was the best phone and camera ive ever had for the price . I mean ive surrently got the s22 ultra and i feel the pro 20 camera was waaay more clear on the zoom , i might go back next time i upgrade
Dear Uncle TechSpurt always love your comments it is always much appreciated this is a phone I am definitely going for this year it has an absolute going for it ,yes the software is not 100% but can be worked around with to get desktop screen to be addressed a couple of questions I have for you it is 80watt wired charge I bought a ugreen 100watt charger it says it is compatible for phone where it's wattage will only be released to charge phone as needed not overcharge safe protection.And final question as it is 66reverse watt charger what size battery charger is enough of a battery bank to protect phone from way too much mah being stored to save battery on phone life cheers for all your comments and lastly with cameras would goggle photo app help in images being processed along with processor sorry about so many questions best wishes cheers Declan 👍👍🙏🙏

How does the macro photography compare to the Magic Pro 5. I found the 5 excellent. I've recently traded in for the Samsung s24 ultra. And i have to be honest as i find the macro or should I say lack of macro in the s24 ultra disappointing. Unless i am missing a trick somewhere.

As a Huawei user i tought i will like it...but nah...i remain to the P40 Pro for longer than i planned since no new phone caught my attention 🙃
crossfader4617 same here, I have the P40 Pro Plus and I don't think there's been any other phone with a 10x optical zoom been released by any brand, they're all doing 2.5 to 5x max and relying on increased pixel count for cropping. I can live without GMS, it definitely has some advantages not having it. But I'm hanging on for Huawei, they're fighting back big time, 5G chips are back in production for the new phones so I'm hoping they'll dust off the 10x optical set up and bring out something even better soon, won't be long before they'll be number one brand again🤫

What glass does the screen use tho? I'd like to know, I bought the Magic 5 pro and it's great but within 2 weeks I had already picked up 2 small scratches on it even tho I'm really careful with my phones, I've looked online and can't find any info on the type of glass used in the 5 or 6 pro, just says glass. This could be a deal breaker for me if it's not gorilla glass.
It's not gorilla Glass. They have a special name for it and it is more a custom thing

Watched people stab the new glass with cutters, scissors, knife, metal scrub... really without a scratch. I also have Magic 5 Pro but this new one really wants me to get it cuz I hate curved screen because it's hard to get a protector but the Magic 6 Pro makes it look like you don't even need a screen protector.
