    ok so since our power went off today, heres what i did since my burner isnt the same as this one, i had to think of another way.
    i put a glass dish on the counter..then i lit four tea light candles and put the burner frm the stove over them, ( the candels were actually kinda in between the burner ), then i put my pot with soup on top, and it worked..:):) ..now im heating my cup of tea..make sure the pot is covered though to keep the heat in..i didnt do this with the soup so it took about 15-20 min or more to get hot, but with the hot water, it only took maybe 5 min...you can also use a grill too to put the pot on.

    @ 1:53 when a " flame Tip " is " at " or " just below a metal surface " ( the clearance of a Flat U.S. Dime / about 2 or 3 mm )
    that is when the Flame is most effective !
    If a Flame moves across the bottom surface of a metal Pot, Pan or Kettle most of the heat of the flame Will Escape from under the
    bottom surface and will escape up-along the sides of the Cooking Vessel !
    Thus the Flame & It's Heat is wasted !

      How would the tea lights ruin the coil? The coil elements can get red hot just from normal cooking on high. I think they are made to take heat. But this is such a good idea! 👍

    • @richardelliott9511
      @richardelliott9511 2 года назад

    I have found that some of the Chinese Croc Cookers have Ceramic Bowels ( for Lack of better terminknowlogy ) in them, leaving
    " an AIR Space " between " The Heating Element " and " the Ceramic [ food ] Vessel " !
    If any electric Cookware has this; " Then the Air space " Acts " as an " Insolation " !
    " This Why " the Newer Croc Cookers " Take longer " / My guess is that " the Older Ones heated " Up In 5 to 10 minutes "/
    and the " New-er Ones " could to my [ off the top ] Estimate " Take 3 or 4 Times " Longer to Cook " the Same Dish, " / If That !

    I like the innovative thinking, but it you have a gas stove with a pilot light, and the gas has been cut off, using candles there is a bit dangerous, because the gas pressure might return without notice. In that scenario, it would be better to place the candles on some other flat fireproof surface, and hopefully the grate will have enough clearance to sit above the candles.

      May I respectfully add that during the Texas grid-down situation in February 2021, I was able to cook cod fillets and scramble eggs. A warm meal in 9 degree F weather was a game changer. It's a huge moral booster and a warm meal in our belly is so very comforting. I now have a folding Sterno Stove that I bought for $6 at Cabela's and the gel fuel for just this scenario. I found the exact same type of fuel at the Family Dollar store for only $1 each in my area. If you ever need to employ this method, I can guarantee you will not be sorry for the money spent; whether tea candles or sterno. I also have a Rocket Stove that I built from bricks on the back patio to use if needed, which uses minimal wood twigs and sticks to get the highest temperature output; great for boiling water quickly. Hope this helps. 🙂

    Thank you so much for this idea, I believe God sent me here so that if the electricity ever goes out permanently or for a while I have a way to cook. I’ve had a lot of anxiety about using camp stoves and stuff like that because I’m visually impaired and fire makes me nervous, even candles make me nervous but with these little ones underneath the pan that would make me feel better and then I could blow them out!
