      Hahaha good one, but the plates run through the danakil depression in neighbouring Ethiopia, about 200 million years from now, Ethiopia is going to file for divorce on poor old Djibooti, which will become a separate island.

    I'm from Djibouti & I'd have to argue that we are only close with Ethiopia from an economic perspective. Our closest friend would have to be Somalia. The Issa you referred to isn't an ethnic group, rather a sub clan of the Somali people whom are represented by the blue section of the flag. As you mentioned, the country was titled "French Somaliland" and was actually very close to forming a union with Somalia after independence (good thing that didn't happen😳)

      Sarina Alexa National languages aren't accurate most of the time. Like even in Somalia their national languages are Somali and Arabic. I've never met anyone that spoke any Arabic. It's more of a religious thing. And also for Djibouti French is the national language because they where colonised by the French. The majority of Djibouti speaks Somali and afar (...I know I got that last on wrong).

    • @Kel3030
      @Kel3030 8 лет назад +15

      Negatory on the closer to Somalia than Ethiopia part. You might be thinking of the semi autonomous region of Somaliland; even still, you're talking about tribal relations and not economic. Don't forget that Issa only make up half of the country.

    • @urbannomad9590
      @urbannomad9590 8 лет назад +126

      +Owen Somalia and Djibouti not only share the same ethnic group with Somalia but also history, culture, bilateral relations, etc. A lot Djiboutian men and women fight along Somalia side during the Ogaden war. Somalia also supported Djibouti independence. Even Djibouti's first president (Hassan Guleed Aptidon) was born in northern Somalia. Him and Mahmoud Harbi were pan-Somalist. They wanted to unite ethnic Somali-land as one country. The current Djibouti's president also received training from the Somali National security service.

    • @urbannomad9590
      @urbannomad9590 8 лет назад +52

      +Owen the Issa clan may make up half of the country's population but all ethnic Somali clans make up more than 65%. Don't forget the Gedabuursi and the Isaaq clans are also ethnic Somalis. The number of Ethnic Somalis actually grew for the last 25 years, considering a lot of them from Somalia settled in Djibouti. I would actually say more than 80% of Djibouti's population are ethnic Somalis !

      The problem is Somalis want everything for themselves.
      87% of Djibouti's land is owned by ethnic Afar people. Tadjourah (Tagorri), Dekeli, Alaili Dadda, Obock, Galaafi, Yoboki are all Afar.
      The issa (which is controversial Somali clan) has the Ali Sebeh province.
      If Afar people establish a sovereign state in the triangle, Djibouti's 87% land mass will go to Afar while 13% will either join Somaliland or Ethiopia.

    you are right for the Afar but Issa is just a clan not everyone is Issa there like 30 clans but all the clan expect afar think of themselves as Somali (I am Issa) , it s more like 60% Somalis and most people in my country will never say that Ethiopia is our best friend we prefer Somalia or France ( Ethiopia wants an access to sea). Arabic is official language just because of Islam but most people speak French, Afar or/and Somali( more Somali). Also we have a dictator. I watch your video since Andorra and I didn't miss one since. Sorry for my bad English 😃

    Did you know that when the French colonists first arrived, they asked a native what this place name is, yet the native didn't know French and thought the colonists were pointing at his pot, so he answered, "Djibouti" as this is the way the natives there call it "my pot". And therefore, this place was forever known to be the land of "My Pot", or Djibouti, depending on whether or not you are a Djibouti native. Also, inovation lel

    I'm so relieved you're pronouncing Dominica correctly...I lived there for about 2 years, and when I first arrived, the locals were VERY upset if you said it incorrectly...and I guess it's now engrained in me too. When (on rare occasion) I hear Dominica pronounced like the republic up north, it's a source of frustration.
    So thank you. :)

    Czech Version.
    Intro:
    Podívej, rozumím. Hity se píší s tímhle. Ale vážně! Budete mesorizováni a budete chtít prozkoumat to, jakmile budete mít dobrý pohled na Djiobuti.
    Jingle:
    Ahoj všichni, jsem tvůj hostitel Barby. Vítejte na místě, které doufá, že se stane "Dubajem východní Afriky". Teď jsou to silné požadavky, které je třeba učinit. Uvidíme, co se děje v Džibutsku.
    Political Geography:
    I když je malý, Džibuti je to, co nazýváte geostrategickou zemí, ve které je celý dom obklopen jedním z nejvíce ekonomicky významných regionů na planetě, a z toho plyne. Džibutsko se nachází na rohu Afriky, hraničí s Eritreou, Etiopií a Somálskem. Přes Adenský záliv z Jemenu na Arabském poloostrově. Džibutsko je jedním z busesistických námořních drah na světě, přímo u ústí, kde se setkávají v údolí Bab-el-Mandab Indický oceán a Rudé moře. To dává Džibuti tak výhodnou geoekonomickou pozici. Země je rozdělena do šesti regionů a přímý název kapitálu "Djibouti City odpočívá na pobřeží na jihovýchodním cípu zálivu. Město Djibouti s názvem" město 7 maskách "samo o sobě hostí zhruba 70% Celé obyvatelstvo země, myslím, že kdybyste vyzeral jako satelitní snímek v noci, vypadá to takhle ... * Ukazuje obrázek * Celá země obklopuje Tadjouraský záliv, který pravděpodobně hraje nejdůležitější životní roli v makeupu země. Na neobydlené / sporné ostrovy Doumeira a Kalida s Eritreou a ostrovy Ka A Dabali poblíž pobřeží v obci Obac, stejně jako ostrovy Iles Moucha a Maskali přímo u vstupu do zálivu Tadjoura a také malé ostrovy vnitrozemí , Jako je Ile Du Diable nebo "ostrov Demon", který je nazýván tímto způsobem, protože je tam vždycky mlhavý a říká se, že lidé, kteří tam chodí, se nikdy úplně nevrátí, a teď je tu něco o Džibuti. Vše o místě, locati na místě! Nyní může být krajina trochu drsná a pustá, ale pokud se vám podaří vybudovat základnu, máte přístup k mezikontinentální síti a bráně, která otevírá svět příležitostí a bezpečnosti. Džibutí hostí širokou škálu vojenských kontingentů z jiných zemí mimo svou zemi, jako je Francie, Japonsko a jediná základna USA v Africe také. Na oplátku se to stane příjmovým tokem pro státní pokladnu a dovoluje a dává poněkud stabilní ekonomický růst pro Džibutsko. Země jako celek působí jako hlavní dopravní uzel pro doplňování paliva a přepravu zboží, které přichází do oblasti, zejména do Etiopie, protože nemohou skutečně využít Eritrea, protože jo ... V kostce byla celá země pod kontrolou Francouzské pravidlo jako francouzský Somaliland a později později teritoria francouzského afar a Issa, dokud se v roce 1977 nedosáhne své nezávislosti. Legrační věc je, na rozdíl od Somálska či Eritreje, že Džibutí má mnohem vyšší politickou stabilitu a všeobecný index Snažte se zůstat neutrální nebo nezúčastněni mezinárodních konfliktů. Pokud není zasažen. To znamená, že na rozdíl od jiných oblastí má Džibuti nějaký čas, aby skutečně pracovala na rozvojovém projektu, jako je budování železnice do Addis Abeby, Etiopie, Nebo 2 nové letiště. Ne každý bude souhlasit, ale někteří džibutští věří, že se všemi eskalujícími novými mezinárodními investicemi doufají, že se stanou "Dubajem z Afrického rohu". A kdo ví, jestli ano? Myslím tím, že se dostali na světový radar bez oleje. Dokážete si představit, co by se stalo, kdyby našli ropné zásoby? Já - Ne! Ne! Vypněte! * Střelba z pistole * Bylo to opravdu zábavné. Ok, čas na krajinu!
    That's all for now. I'll get the rest later.

    Djibouti, officiellement la République de Djibouti, est un pays situé dans la Corne de l'Afrique en Afrique de l'Est. Il est bordé par la Somalie au sud, l'Éthiopie au sud et à l'ouest, l'Érythrée au nord, la mer Rouge et le golfe d'Aden à l'est. De l'autre côté du golfe d'Aden se trouve le Yémen, qui ne partage pas de frontière terrestre avec Djibouti. Le pays a une superficie totale de 23 200 km2 (8 958 mi2). La République de Djibouti est principalement habitée par deux groupes ethniques, les Somaliens et les Afars, les premiers constituant la majorité de la population.
