In this tutorial, I explain how I post processed an image for a magazine cover. They needed a vertical image, all I had were horizontal. I couldn't just crop my image vertically -- I would be cropping out too much of the scene so I had to come up with something else. Here I show what I did.

Anthony, you are a wealth of information and the go to person to learn a particular subject in post processing. Thank you for presenting your videos in a manner we can all easily learn from!

That was brilliant Anthony, I am glad you got the photo you wanted for the magazine it really delighted me the way you went about it and I felt really pleased for you. I have faced the same kind of situation as yourself but I had to tell them I didn’t have the image they were looking for :( hence the reason I felt so pleased for you. I agree with you too that the best thing to do is take both vertical and horizontal photos just in case they are needed. I also take (when I have the opportunity) a photo where I can leave enough room around the subject I am photographing so that I can crop it for a square crop and not lose anything I would like in the photo. Cheers Anthony, you sure did just brighten up my morning with this 😁👍

If you did it today you wouldnt need the faffing with selecting a color and filling...youd content aware fill any new added areas and just go straight to sky replace...or am i missing something ?

Excellent Anthony, lots of little technics there to store for future use though I am confused as to the difference between Merge Visible , Merge Layers and Flatten Image. Are these the same or does one have an advantage over others ? Thank you again for the effort and time you put into these tutorials.

Nice tutorial, but I think your original edit looked even better. Maybe the sky was a better match for reflections.

Well done! But, no offence, that original photo looks overprocessed - too much contrast and sharpening….
