Maybe, but after building it and sailing it, I will say this is one solid and sturdy boat. The cuddly cabin, port and starboard compartments, and the water ballast make this a very stable yet nimble sailing boat. Took me and my daughter two years to build. Sailed it twice then the weather got real wet and windy. I chose this boat because of its light weight, stability, dry nature, and ease of sail. I’m 60 years old, live with Parkinson’s disease, and still prefer to solo sail Puget Sound. I like this boat, after this next year, I’m sure I’ll love it! Good luck!
I used about 5 1/2 gallons of Silvertip epoxy resin by System 3, and mixed it with the appropriate hardener usually quick, but I did use a fair amount of slow hardener as well, using the measured pump dispensers. We worked with Silvertip in the NorthWest US, wet February through dry August and I never had a problem. Somewhere toward the end of the SCAMP build, I inadvertently purchased a gallon of Raka epoxy resin and a gallon of Raka quick hardener, which worked real nice on another project as well. I don’t think I’d have a problem working with Raka either. I’ve used West System Epoxy on a previous boat and I seem to remember it being finicky about temperature, I remember it being expensive, but I wouldn’t trust my memory. Good luck to you!
