Why has this story captivated millions of viewers around the world? That's easy. After 9 years(!) of relentless 'stalking' by the media and #MeToo Movement, it's so refreshing to finally hear and see the other side of the coin!😃The victim here is not only male, but unlike (the vast majority of) the female victims, he doesn't see him himself only as the victim. Nor does he see his stalker only as the perpetrator, but Richard Gadd has introduced shades of grey again in the conversation. This isn't a "Believe all Women" and "All men are potential rapists" story, which was common sense before the #MeToo Movement, but has since then become exceedingly rare.
No matter how hard the binary, woke "Believe all Women" cum #MeToo crowd wants to believe that all women are simply the victim, it's just not true. Plus, what the hell is a woman nowadays?
This show was so moving, dynamic. I was just looking through Netflix yesterday and choose it. I did not know it would be so good! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (I never even thought of searching for who the characters were based on. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP!)
please let's not stalk a woman you only know exists from watching a show that displays the damage that stalking can have on victims of stalking

Not the shows fault people are lunatics. I get looking into the real life crimes behind tv shows and movies, I’ve done it myself. That is where a normal person’s curiosity ends. If you are part of an online group stalking, you have serious problems.

The actual Jessica has been all over the internet. She’s finding us- not the other way around.
One big problem is that Gadd plays the victim but uses his trauma to gain fame and promote his career, he has been doing his one man play for many years and now broadcast it to the world via Netflix and made very little effort to disguise his alleged stalker’s identity by having the actress resemble her similarly in appearance and giving her the same career and background. Couple this with his own admission many of the details and events in the series are entirely fictional including her serving jail time for stalking him which gives doubt on his truthfulness and real motivation behind telling his story. I have no doubts he was victimized and there are kernels of truth to the story, but without hard evidence it’s hard impossible to judge the severity of his abuse and what did and did not happen. He and the creators of this series had to have known people would try to track down the real people involved with his story by giving it such a large platform. Say what you will about his alleged stalker but she is a real person with legal and human rights just like you and me who most likely is severally mentally ill. In my opinion the creators just did not care that they are potentially siccing millions of people onto her but only cared about fame and money. This undermines his story and only reinforces his admission that he will do anything for fame and now ironically he is abusing his abuser and seems like a very messed up form of revenge. I don’t think he’s grown as a person or has taken full personal responsibility for his actions despite his claims.
Anyone who loves this actress, she is hilarious on The Outlaws.
