Me too, only difference was it was 1994. I picked a hell of a time to become an Alice fan, right when they went on indefinite hiatus 😂. Glad we got one more album at least. @@elkrumb9159 I understand what your saying with all the song writing for the most part plus him writing his riffs and harmonizing with Layne which is a great deal of the work but I wouldn't call it his band considering Layne was a generational talent and both Mike's and Sean were talented in there own rights at their instruments
@@tristencoon8198@tristencoon8198 I don't think it was disrespectful to say that. Everyone loves Layne's voice and what he contributed. But most of their best songs, Jerry composed the entire song. It was just such a great band that they all were able to make magic no matter what. And he never wanted praise for doing more. I remember an interview where they brought it up nd he said "We're in a band and we kick ass" LOL. I was impressed to know that Rooster was pretty much all Jerry. I bought an original Brazilian pressing from the era back in 2019 for only 50 bucks. Sounds sick, since it was in pristine state. The only issue is that the original masters of this album (both vinyl and CD) are too quiet, so you have to crank the volume up a lot just to get a decent amount of noise out of it.

Good news, friend! They've released a new and modern G&L Rampage. It has 24 frets and a Floyd but rumors say that they'll release a tribute version with the original specs and all the good stuff that made it awesome. :D
Dude all I can think about listening to these is how they impress me like Eddie’s tracks. He’s got that wet dry wet tone going on that nasty and huge but also bright and readable at the same time. Didn’t expect to be so floored by these tracks his tone is up there with the greats.
@@SuperGregrr braindead take. if you think no one can write a song anymore, you just don’t listen to modern music. thats such a shallow, pathetic thing to say.

ONE OF THE BEST GUITAR TONES EVER

Man, Jerry’s tone is just fucking insane.
That tone is like a snarling vicious beast. After I listened to “Dirt” in 1993, I bought my first guitar and have been playing ever since.

When that riff restarts after the solo 👀
So satisfying 😁!
One of the heaviest riffs of all time, you don´t really need Drop Z to get heavy.
But jerry played it dropped
That guitar distortion... That squish when he lays into those palm mutes is so damn satisfying. 🤤🤤🤤
That sound and riff. Excellent 🎶✌
Absolutely SAVAGE guitar tone. Jerry for the win. 🤘
My favorite short and sweet rock song
AIC has always been Cantrell's band.
Woah woah hold up now
They in it all together

Imagine being in the room when this was recorded. You would become sexually aroused at the guitar tone.
Lmfao😂😂
😂😂
Lol, I'm getting aroused by listening to it through mediocre speakers and bitrate. Being there would most probably result in orgasms or something :P
Would be? Already there🤪
The very definition of a screaming rock guitar
You can hear the tubes just ringing from that amp.
Thing of beauty.
😱 Those harmonics at 1:48 are so foreboding..you just know the Story he's painting does not end well...

Pretty sure this is the G&L Rampage, and it's a freaking crime you can no longer buy one of them new. Why Jerry ? WHY ! ?
I thought they did a signature reissue
@@yurimodin7333 they did but the contract expired or something. G&l isn't making a non signature Rampage even

Jerry quadruple tracked his guitar for this didn't he?
I think it's just double tracked, but the gain makes it sound like 8 guitars which is awesome
Doesn't sound like hard pan left and right.
Metal!
WHy so much noise in the background?
Cantrell’s tone is pretty noisy/raspy in this song. The noise is there in the mixed track, just balanced with everything.
Jerry also layered a shit load of different amps and guitars so there is probably quite an amplified effect on the normal buzz from just one amp
MOAR GAIN
Sick ass tone
Jerry's tone has lots of gain
Jerry is a god.
Sounds like my old crate 120 amp.
Is that chorus pedal making this riff so juicy?
Double tracked.
I thought the story was they put the amp cab in the stairwell and mic'd it up and turned it to 11.

Whats wrong with muddy? It suits the genre entirely
Not everything needs to be super tight. Modern production makes music sound so generic now.
