HI Euan and thanks for the demo. That is not a cheap library. I am a Moogie Canazio fan (have worked with him extensively) so I knew the sound would be outstanding. So I bought this library a couple weeks ago and discovered to my absolute shock that there is not a single sample that is not recorded in octaves. Ever tried putting chords on a horn section that's recorded in octaves? Exactly. It's impossible and sounds like $%^t - unless you want it to sound like a classical horn section. Almost asked for my money back. What I am doing now is creating the chordal parts with another library - let's pray that it will sound somewhat consistent. All my best
Hi Stephan and thanks for your comment. I’ve found Spitfire libraries, especially some brass ones in Originals and Abbey Rd, are good. This EW library was all about those stabs for me. I’m not sponsored by EW and I found my foray into these sounds via ComposerCloud, but have found some of the other Spitfire libraries more playable, responsive and realistic for a variety of music making. Stick with my channel. I’ve got a long list of video ideas but the past few weeks have been busy with other projects, but I’ve got some experiments I’ll share and I’ll be live-streaming more too. Have a good music-making weekend. 😀
Using a controller can you assign the key switches to the controller pads and knobs? I am the keyboard player who plays all of the brass sections in our R&B band. I am more interested in how this program would work in a live situation.
Yes, absolutely you can. You just need to assign the midi note to the pad and it will change the articulation. I’ll try to make a video about this but I don’t have a live synth with pads, but the process is the same. What kit are you using live?
This is a great library, I would’ve given it a 10/10 if it weren’t for the reverb the samples themselves have. Not being able to remove them makes it harder to give them a “tighter” sound, so I’d resort to removing the reverb artificially.
I’m certain that not all sounds in this library have reverb as standard. You can always turn off reverb in the player settings. It’s a toggle on the right-hand side. What is your favourite patch in this library? What did you enjoy most about this video?
@@euansmithmusic I have tried disabling the reverb that is usually automatically enabled when opening the patches, however like I said above, whatever way they were recorded, still has reverb in the samples themselves. I'm not really sure, I really do love all the patches you can find in the library. I loved the part of the video where you included a demo song with the library.
Ah I see. That’s a shame. I’m sure there are EQ settings you can use to Deverb the sound. Checkout Google for ideas or click here: gregdouras.com/2020/08/20/remove-reverb-echo-in-logic-pro-x-for-free/
Hi, thank you for this, greatly appreciated. I have just bought this yet I'm totally stuck with playing in articulations live and also entering them in the piano roll. Might you be able to help please?
Hi Ian, p58 might help here: media.soundsonline.com/manuals/EW-Hollywood-Pop-Brass-User-Manual.pdf, but also, checkout using the automations feature of your DAW. If it’s Logic, sometimes automation view is switched off. Double-click your track region, then on the piano roll inspector, select the icon that looks like a step, a bit like _/~ and you’ll be able to see everything then. I hope this helps. 😁 Thanks for watching.

If you had a laptop, and MIDI keyboard connected to it, there’s no reason why this can’t be performed live. Thanks for watching my video. Have you seen the recent upload about Wordbuilder?
It looks like there's no way to play instruments separately or arrange them differently. The section sounds the same in all the examples I've heard with trumpets playing an octave or two higher.
To me, even demos of this library on EastWest site sound quite unnatural and very dated. Something realistic may probably be done using this library, but that's not the case with EastWest demos, and this video also isn't really convincing. Not buying it.
@@euansmithmusic Maybe. I don't know much about Spitfire Audio though. They have pop brass in their catalogue? As for sounds for brass arrangements, I use NI Session Horns Pro (they sound somewhat similar to EastWest Brass, weaker in some areas, stronger in some others) and Sample Modeling Kontakt libraries - these are very realistic and playable. EastWest brass sound so dated compared to Sample Modeling, although they are from different categories of course (solo vs pre-recorded ensemble).
Like they used to do back in the day. I suppose now it's a way to control the copyright and IP. Still, nothing from stopping you from sampling your own and uploading these to hardware samplers, or the new line of Push 3 models.

Completely correct, I just made your post again, without knowing it. (Read your's after the fact).
Great video Sir. Thank you

Is that not to do with which mics you mix in in the mixer window? I can't quite remember as it's been a while since I've used the library. @@Remour
It may well be.

Can you use this in a live musical group ? In real time or is this for only musical production?

You can edit them in the left hand side. The latest EW video shows a details way of using it to create music.

Absolutely, everyone’s preference will be different. Good luck finding your sound. Tom Holkenberg’s brass libraries also look good.
Whow I rather find EW Pop brass to be super real and fuller than any other
@Kwakuananse_ they are good for experimenting and enhancing a track that’s for sure. Thanks for watching.
I bought this I want the license code cost120 dollars
Enjoy it, though ideally, ComposerCloud Plus would have granted you this library for much less a month.
Why dont they sell the samples by themselves for hardware samplers??? FK SOFTWARE!!!!!
