its not on prehistoric planets level but not every single bit of it is inaccurate, and well im not trying to excuse the outdated or nonsensical things that are in this documentary at times, I don't think its worth hating on, I think supporting netflix for trying while pointing out they could do better is the way to go. I hate to see that they were planning to do another similar show and perhaps do it even better in terms of accuracy but decide not too cause everyone has decided to just hate on this for not being to a T what mark witton would sign off on.
What's the point of making the terror bird scary if you're just going to show it as a Smilodon meal (something inaccurate that has been debunked long ago) 😂
The CGI in this is so far behind Prehistoric Planet. Such a gap in quality, not to mention the lack of scientific accuracy. It comes across in this feature too... laughing at the names of dinosaurs and trying to make them look scary instead of actually appreciating them as flesh and blood animals. Pathetic
Nah man the CGI and designs are good and relatively accurate, its literally everything else that's lacking on top of the prehistory segments being so short, i'd just call it a bit half baked
Oh, that was a fantastic show. This and Prehistoric Planet set a very good precedent on (the highly feared abbreviation atm) CGI. These artists have got a lot more to give, I included in the near future at least.
@@LuisRivera-jk1vo Chill out mate, it's just that the show is terrible at communicating the sciences correctly and just keeps pushing outdated ideas as fact. What the hell is wrong with this comment section?! Sure this show had elements that could have been a lot better, but so many of you are blowing this waaay out of proportion and are mad at the show for the wrong reasons.
It doesn't just have issues with animal design. The narration lies and misrepresents certain beats in Earth history, and how evolution works. The ordovician mass-extinction event is a prime example of this.
CGI could be better, compared to prehistoric planet, but that probably had a lot more $ to throw at it, plus Morgan Freeman likely ate up a lot of the budget. I liked the terror bird segment, but the cave lion/mammoth bit felt off; unless that juvenile was sickly, something that large wouldn't get pulled down by lions that quickly, nor would it apparently give up and give up the ghost so quickly, as we've seen how long it takes modern lions to take out smaller and less durable African elephants
It’s like bbc walking with dinosaurs prehistoric beasts and prehistoric planet . I hope Netflix does dinosaurs again and this time Kenneth Branagh narrates again . I hope Apple TV does prehistoric planet 3 soon next year .
The terror bird beak does not look right, It bothers me. A miner change would be to have a longer lower jaw it's a bit small. I mean no hate, It just bothers me.
Watered down by a lot but I appreciate the CGI work and designs, just not the science that gets outdated and how short these segments are. Its like biting more than they could chew.
honestly, after having such a groundbreaking masterpiece in prehistoric planet, this one looks a bit cute. yes VFX is amazing, but let's be real... the dinos does too many unnecessary hollywood growls and screeches. NOTHING tops prehistoric planet's realism in movement and gestures. i was hoping this one could challenge it, but nah.... way off. hats off to mr. freeman though, brilliant narration as always.
