The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association is the international governing body for the sport of women’s flat track roller derby and a membership organization for leagues to collaborate and network. The WFTDA sets standards for rules, seasons, and safety, and determines guidelines for the national and international athletic competitions of member leagues.

The announcers and segments do a great job of explaining the game. If you need a 101 real life derby this is a good one.
As a junior player in Britain, it's really nice to see some flat track derby on such a high level! I'll keep an eye out for more!!

I didn't know Ole Anderson, legendary wrestler, color commentated on roller derby.
My first season of watching derby. What a great new (old) sport! 1:10:23, Sara Chambers launches her apex jump with launch-skate just out of bounds. Oops! I wonder when WFTDA will start doing replay for challenges? In case you don't know, you can use , (comma) and . (period) to frame advance back/forward when paused.
Cheers for that You Tube lesson! I always use the slider thing to rewind bits - and often have to repeat doing that over and over before I am sure on some line call for many sports. Frame by frame rewind - just the job.

wow man, the pack wasn't doing any justice to the jammers for Rose city... This game clearly shows how even the best jammer on the world can't score anything without the pack
You are right, no blocking equals no scoring. Skilled blockers are every bit as important as great jammers. Same example took place in a different sport this Feb. KC was missing 2 starting lineman, you can ask Patrick Mahomes how that ended up!!

30:59 VRDL uses their Official Review (OR) as a Team Time Out (TTO). In the commentary, it's explained that TTO is for 30 seconds.

Yeah, the derby you knew as a kid was scripted like entertainment wrestling. Modern derby is an actual sport.
