I would say Unity is pivotal to the franchise is so many ways; mechanics, graphics, the introduction or real parkour and how smooth is really can be, the smoothness of chain-killing, so much more. This game really pushed the franchise ahead.
This game really hit a high note and was pivotal to the series in many ways. The graphics, animations, gear and clothing, the number of different weapons that each had their own move sets, the attention to detail in the recreation of Paris. It was a game with so much effort put into it that was way ahead of its time. And then when the players got their hands on it they showed that they didn't care about ANY of that. Ubisoft learned an important lesson that day and I think they're still trying to figure out what their fans actually want. I certainly don't know. But I'll never forgive the fan base for the way they treated this game.

Ray Tracing is weird a lot of times. It's better to make games look more real than looking like a shiny mess, especially during rain. I turned off Ray Tracing in most of the games because the game ends up looking like a big mirror many times.

In my opinion, this game is the best Assassin's Creed game since Ezio's trilogy. Yes, its initial release unfortunately was filled with errors and bugs, but I believe that was due to the downgrade resulting from having graphics ahead of its time. This game, with both the era it portrays and its story, is a series that should continue. I wish they would reboot the series at this point and make an Arno trilogy.
That's because the game lacks a proper tutorial The main mechanic the game doesn't mention is the influence your camera has on your next input movement. Where ever you point it, there's an invisible reticle that influences where you Arno will go next. This is the main reason the game feels 'inconsistent'' and as if it's guessing where you wanna go. Pair this with the fact that: RT + A will launch you to the furthest and highest possible point RT will target anything closest to you RT+B will simply target the lowest point Which are all horribly explained in game as well.

As beautiful as this game might be, it still needs major polishing. Here high refresh rate solves half the problem. I am currently playing on PS5, it's pretty glitchy. Arno feels so heavy to move, command response is not that good, he gets stuck every now and then, gets detected even when he's not supposed to. Ruins the whole experience. 😞
unity was so awesome.. everyone hated this game when it came out.. said it was super buggy.. i played this on my laptop just fine.. look at the sword fighting its amazing compared to now like odyssey i seriously have to play on easy mode because it takes 10 hits to kill an enemy.. this game is like 1 or 2.. play odyssey on hard and its like wtf this is so dumb.. these older games really were the business and unity really was amazing.. syndicate was also really good..

You don't need a 4090 to experience this game's beauty at maximum graphics. Literally doesn't do much apart from a slight boost in FPS. A 4070 will do perfectly, even too well.

It's been almost 10 years since the game came out and it seems like it came out yesterday because of how beautiful it is, it's a shame that the optimization of the game is bad and I remember how many bugs there were at the launch of the game. Even today, the game is very poorly optimized and even on today's good computers lag is felt in certain parts. it definitely killed my will to play.

I don't know what people are talking about. For the time, yes, it looks really good. But today? Even with the Nvidia settings enabled. It's pop in is truly next level bad. Grass doesn't draw past 20 feet around you. The shimmering is off the charts even with TXAA. Buildings in the distance are something you'd expect in the far, far distance but are only 2 blocks up. Crowds pop in out of nowhere just 50 feet away. They have multiple LOD's that are painfully obvious etc. I want to see/play what the game was initially intended to look like. Movement is good though. And it does look great for the time it was released. I remember it ran terribly at release though and they downgraded the graphics and specifically the crowds to make it work.
The graphic is amazing the game itself is very very good but even with 4090 you can see how many bugs the game has. and optimization is a disaster. If this game had been well-optimized this probably would be the best Assassin game.

if you switched TAA off it would look even better. Less blurry. Bloom is another setting I always get rid of for graphic clarity

You can double the framerate by switching to Vulkan from DX11 using dxvk.
