When my kids were younger I found it really helpful to keep a beach towel on the floor in the kitchen. It gave the kids a similar “yes zone” and I would set it up with different things during the day to keep them occupied while I had to clean or cook, etc. Sometimes it was an upside down pot with a spoon to bang on it, sometimes a shallow bowl of water and some bath toys, sometimes in winter I’d bring in some snow from outside. Or a cookie sheet with magnets (obviously that one is not for infants.) It helped them have some extra sensory play and kept them occupied when I needed to get things done.

Watching this while my kids are awake and realizing i also have the habit of turning media on and then overstimulating myself with it 😅 this is a great list, Ashley!

I don´t even have kids (sometimes I babysit, though) and I find your content so interesting and educational. Specially because you are great communicating ideas! I hope your channel grow a lot!

I also began cleaning the kitchen only at night and that made things a lot better for me.

Funny I did the opposite. Putting on music relaxes everyone and the Kids stop asking for me

Thank you for having this together in one video. Ive randomly done these things and they do ease the overstimulation ik itll be a huge change implementing them all at once.

I’m pregnant (hoping this baby sticks as this is pregnancy #4-no human babies at home yet), and I have 5 dogs at home. Hubby and I plan for me to quit my job when baby is born. I never planned to be a stay at home mom, yet, if this pregnancy goes well that’s exactly what I’ll be.
I really appreciated you sharing these tips to enjoy motherhood more & to keep some of your sanity!
Due at the end of December and my first ultrasound is on Monday!

Honestly I’ve never felt overstimulated in motherhood until I had my second child. Since having my baby 3 months ago I’ve just felt so thinly spread, that my eldest just wants me even more than she did as an only child. On top of that we’ve been potty training said eldest, we’re only on day 10 but she’s just not seeming to get it. She will poo on her potty, but isn’t great at peeing on the potty, even if she sort of knows she should be doing it there (she will start to wee and walk to the potty just leaving a trail of pee in her wake). I’ve been so stressed and feel like a bad mum to both kids, I feel like my baby needs and deserves more affection and attention, and my eldest deserves more 1x1 time. I just feel so so overwhelmed but it’s 100% been worse since potty training, it’s making me into a version of myself in motherhood that I’ve not seen in the 2 and a half years of being a mum

How do you and Josh negotiate who does the dishes at the end of the night? Or is this pre bedtime and he's watching the kids? Im on mat leave right now and try to do a bit more of the "clean as you go approach" throughout the day, but get livid if my husband doesn't at least help with dinner dishes after the kids are asleep.

Is AG1 safe while nursing? Are you still breastfeeding? I want to try it, but I wasn't sure.
