    I bought this car in August. Absolutely a blast! I was waiting for a Stinger but found this one new! Same colour, AWD

      I test drove a Stinger GT2 today. It was way too easy to accidentally shift into neutral while driving. It happened to me. It doesn’t require you to press the shift knob and I think it’s a safety issue. But I did put down a deposit on a Midnight Steel Metallic CT5-V that’s in transit. Someone withdrew their deposit and I got it.

    I own one of these in Rift Metallic, blk & white leather w/red stitching & seatbelts. A real stunner! What I can't believe is my car weighs 4,000+ lbs. That's 500 lbs more than a 1989 Caddy Fleetwood 60-Special, a very large car. The CT5 is built on the Camaro platform & uses Magna Ride4™ technology & 100% LED lighting throughout the car. It measures 1 inch LESS than a 2022 Honda Accord in length & is 4" longer than a KIA Stinger, which appears gigantic to me. Idgi? 🙄

    I'm glad that the hp figure was corrected in the notes - yeah, the V puts out 360 hp. The 3.0TT is available in Premium Luxury trim and that engine puts out "only" 335 hp. Undoubtedly only tuning but it makes a difference.

    Nothing is as iconic as the Buick 3.8 Gen II engine, with Port Fuel Injection, even Supercharged where desired. In my 2014 Cadilllac CTS, I have the Hi Feature 3.6 LFX, which is DI, with its carbon problems, and a projected life time of the timing chains of only 150K miles. I assume the 3.0TT has similar low life expectancy. There is no such problem with the Escalade 6.2 V8, or the old Chevy based V8 5.0 or 5.7 engines. I want my old reliable PFI, equally efficient, engines back.

    Why is there so much red on the tachometer? It almost looks like a diesel power band, starting at 4100 rpm. Does anyone know if that is just for a break in period? If this is highlighted as a “performance sedan”, the tach should make it seem like this 3.0 revs higher than 4100. I know in the drive you went past that, but just looking at a tach that is 50% red would kind of get annoying.

    No, it isn't. The only Cadillac sedans that are truly competitive with the Germans are the Blackwing models. This bigger car priced like a smaller one is a strategy that has never worked. It doesn't have the performance of a M340i or the luxury of a 540i. It does better when you compare it to cars like the TLX Type S, another bigger vehicle that tries to straddle different classes with poor results.

    • @jstragland
      @jstragland Год назад +3

      A few things
      1) the tween strategy has worked in the past and is working now with it being bigger than the 3 and being priced like a 3. The last gen CTS failed because it was priced with the Germans but the quality was not there
      2) cadillac offers more features than a comparable BMW M40 ( ventilated front seats with a soft message function) can’t get those on the BMW. Cadillac offers more features to offset the lackluster interior and again to undercut the Germans
      It’s not a bad car however it’s very GM which means it’s good enough but will cost cut to keep accounting happy.

    • @MercOne
      @MercOne Год назад +2

      @@jstragland 1. No it hasn't. How can a strategy be considered successful when you keep dropping the cars? The quality of a Cadillac has never been there in the last 50 years. That is nothing new. You don't build a full size car like a CT6 to chance the 5-Series or E-Class. That's just dumb which is why the car is gone. It shows buyers that you can't compete, so you just make a bigger car. It's weak. This has never worked. If it did they wouldn't have to keep dropping their cars and starting over.
      2. Features don't make a luxury car. No one is not buying a BMW because of ventilated seats. Offering more features to off set crap interior is also a failing strategy which is why every single car they've had gets cancelled. Honest question, do you know what a luxury brand is or what it is supposed to be?
      Which is why both will soon be cancelled like every other Cadillac sedan of the last 40+ years.
      I feel sorry for people who defend Cadillac. Reading these pitiful excuses and this terrible reasoning and knowing that you really believe that this is successful or the right thing to do is just sad. That is why GM itself went belly up. Piss poor execution and that "good enough" nonsense that you're talking about here. You actually think ventilated seats make up for a shit interior. That's pathetic man.

You can bash Cadillac and GM, and everyone who has a counter to your point as angrily as you want BUT it won’t change the facts that I listed above. Hate it or love it, I am correct. Regardless it’s not necessary to get your blood pressure up over nonsense because as you angrily attempt to call people pathetic, GM continues to make money and move Cadillacs. That’s also a fact!
