Took my father to endocrinologist today. He has reactive hypoglycemia and is on his way to developing diabetes w elevated insulin and HA1C. Doctor’s advice was to eat simple carbs every 2 to 3 hours. I said that’s just going to elevated his insulin levels even more and then my dad will for sure be full blown diabetic. Doc responded and I quote, “Oh don’t worry about that. We have medicine to take care of that!”😳😳😳😳. Heaven help us!!!

My husband had undiagnosed diabetes. He had a toe wound that got really bad after doing some plumbing work in our wet crawlspace. Multiple resistant bacteria so he did a pic line for 42 days for those bacteria. We did wound changes on the toe with manuka honey (I think local honey would have worked as well) at a minimum of once per day. Really stayed on top of it. I gave him handfuls of supplements each day designed to support his immune system and bone growth. The doc at first said he needed to take the toe due to osteo infection. It took 7 months... happy to report that the wound finally healed. If we had been even better with carb reduction and no sugar I believe it would have healed in four months. Don't give up! I had some mild discoloration, and brittleness, with my big toe nails, and I reaslized that fungus is alive. I killed 100% of it with a magnifying glass, and the sun. Of course you dont concentrate the sun so you burn yourself, use common sense! What I did was make the sun spot from the glass, smaller and smaller until it started to sting, then I backed off a bit. I then moved the light over the entire nail, and did that a few times, with both nails. This killed ALL of the fungus.

@@c4caffeen134 it will definitely kill all of the fungus. When I realized I was getting the fungus I was horrified. I looked online and all I could see was the pills lamisil and topical treatments and 3 to 4 months of time frame etcetera, with no guarantees. I realize that your finger is translucent like when you put a light behind your finger it will glow red. So I knew the sunlight would penetrate to the nail bed and kill the fungus. Just be careful, and use a small magnifying glass. The bigger the surface area of the glass makes all the difference in terms of how much energy is concentrated. A 5 inch diameter magnifying glass will have way more heat than a 3-inch magnifying glass. So in this case smaller is definitely better.

    Very wise.
FYI the best "cure" for any fungus problem with your feet is:
    1. Soak your feet in vinegar every few days
    2. Keep you feet dry and clean.
If there is an underlying cause making it reoccur, do what this doctor said.
To be fair though, most people could eradicate most of their health issues by just
    Topical use of vinegar
    Not being fat
    Avoiding processed foods and sugar
    Exercise
Spending at least a clear ten hour window of every day where you consume ZERO calories.
Easy to say, another thing to do.

I used clear iodine off Amazon on my toenails every 1-3 days and my nails are now back to normal. However it took a lot of work, I had to really be diligent about it. I also thinned my nails with sandpaper first as much as possible so the iodine would absorb as much as possible. Maybe an object fell in your toe, etc. What happens is that the injury causes the nail to grow unattached to the nail bed causing the nail to become discolored, dry, and brittle. However, this worked for me like a charm: daily soaks in 2 cups listerine mouthwash (caramel colored, not blue!), 2 cups vinegar, 2 cups water, and about 1/4 cup bleach. It stinks (can't do while wife is home). I did this for a couple of months and quickly saw new toenails coming in without disease. Of course it takes about 6 months for the fungus-damaged toenail to grow out. After 2 months, I decreased to at least an hour soak once/week, more when I had the chance. Now I soak once/week for maintenance. Ongoing perfect results!
I agree with all his recs and live by them, but I need the soaks to keep my toenails looking good.

A few years back, I noticed black spots on my left big toe and a some on my calfs and thick skin dry on my heels, itching all over too. . I though it was harmeless and probably related to aging since I always had healthy feet and skin. On my 66 went to dr for first MCR appointment, got blood work an other woman"s testing. I got dx with pre diabetes and nutrient deficits, mainly vit D and b12, which surprised me since I am of normal bmi and my diet was not that terrible, and I was not a big sugar consumer. However, I had other issues that now I now can also elevate your DM risk besides a poor diet. Before taking any medication and after some personal research, I went into a keto diet of no more than 30mg of carbs and IF two times a day to avoid losing too much weight which happens with me very easily. I tested myself faithfully and I now know what makes my BG to spike. My pre diabetes and black spots are gone, and my feet and skin are healthy and soft again. Also all my aches and pains, that I though were age related disappeared. Great interview and information!

I saw several foot doctors over the years who all thought I had toenail fungus and they all cut my nail off each time. It would grow back the same - very thick. The last podiatrist I saw, said everyone was misdiagnosing me and that I actually don't have fungus, it's just a badly damaged nail. I'm hoping carnivore diet will help it to heal because I've tried everything else. We shall see...

Some of them can also be consumed internally like peppermint and citrus, and inhaled for allergies etc. - well worth researching.

I totally agree with you, after taking my father to many of his apoointments, from the time they took toes, then his foot, and finally, unfortunately, I was a few hours late to potentially save him or at least be with him when he passed. I tried to introduce him to a better way of eating, making him fabulous home cooked meals with his grill and kitchen, for the same money he spent on takrout. Only for him to follow it up with a bag of Doritos and another insulin shot. I am determined to live longer for my own kids, and to show them better ways. Thank you for taking this stuff seriously and helping to educate all of us. That being said, I am also an outdoorsey, hands on person, also a guitarist, and I walk outside barefoot to great effect, as do all my family. We value our callouses. How would you recommend we keep them hydrated and soft, while still tough enough to walk on gravel, sharp rocks, and even broken glass without issue, in the case of feet, or use our fingers as wrenches to loosen and turn stuck nuts, or play guitar for hours without finger fatigue?

It's all about the quality. Consume single ingredient food. That's the answer, for example, beans, rice, milk, (organic) beef, (organic) chicken, cheese and fruit, honey, organic sugar (yes you need sugar which is why you crave it). I'll never get toenail fungus! It was a cold wet winter. My toes were in a wet sock and boot too much. I got it. I also cured it! It took a very long time! I'll share with you what I did but first, prevention advice!
If you have family please make sure you keep the tools you use on your ands and feet separated. We don't share a toothbrush soO...
Those with children, keep a schedule of when you tend to their feet. If theyre watching you wash and care for their feet theyll eventually know how to care for their feet themselves. Properly. Every Sunday you'll find my kids sitting on the edge of the tub trimming their toes!
This process takes a long time. The entire nail has to grow out in a healthy environment.
To wash; a dandruff shampoo. Extra strength if possible.
Gently scrub your entire foot and each toe and each nailbed to prevent and as part if the cure.
Push back the cuticle and remove any soft goo from the top of the nail bed and the from beneath. Being sure to scrape any goo from the flesh surface too.
Gently scrub each toe, then the entire foot.
    Let dry completely.
File the nail back into the shape of a healthy nail. File a little bit if the healthy nail that has just grown in and the tip of the nail too.
Gently scrub the toes and foot again. Towel dry.
Apply the antifungal treatment liquid to the underside and the tops of the nails. Rubbing it in on each nail. I even use a child's toothbrush to kind of scrub the solution in . Allow to dry completely repeat application of solution.
MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR HAND/FOOT TOOLS CLEAN DRY AND SEPARATED from each other and f4om other family members.
This fungus is VERY VERY EASY TO SHARE!
    GOD'S SPEED IN HEELING!

It is false that gout was nonexistent 100 years ago. The earliest records span back to 2600 BC and over the centuries it was becoming more prevalent, mostly among better off people. From the chat bot: "Gout became more prevalent during the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly among the affluent classes who had access to diets high in purine-rich foods and alcohol. This period also saw advancements in medical understanding and treatment of the condition. The connection between gout and uric acid was discovered during this time."

She seldom got toenail breakage or splits. So we changed her diet, began taking cod liver pills and began a topical application of colorless Iodine. We apply it right before bed and let it soak in. It's a slow treatment depending on the severity of the fungus but most of her toenails have returned to normal.

Take D3/K2 you always take the D3 with the k2 which puts the D into your bones not your soft tissue like your arteries. You need to get D3 tested. It should be at least 80-100 ng. If your very deficient you can start out with a higher dose 20,000 IU a day for a few weeks. Can split it up a day and take with a fat to help absorb. Like after a breakfast or some real butter. Also sitting in morning sun for 10/20 minutes with sun on the skin. Don’t take the D2 which is what some drs give. Take the D3/k2 together is best. Dr Eric Berg has videos in this as other drs. Take magnesium citrate to help absorption. Up to 500 mg a day. Mag Glycinate at night helps with sleep and relaxation.

Like this video and this sweet doctor. I wonder how to know if you have gout or a bunion. Or BOTH? I want it gone so bad. Cannot wear hardly any shoes ☹️
My lack of magnesium caused me years of heart palpitations, pac's and pvc's. Had several tests done a few times by cardiologist. He finally told me it was benign and pills he could prescribe but they posed a risk of death 😮 This was around 30 years ago and thank God he led me to an article from the great Dr. Russell Blaylock about the benefits of magnesium. I never miss taking magnesium daily OR Vit D and other nutrients from educating myself all about nutrition. Great video!

I do not understand step three: "clean off that entire nail" ??? Does this mean remove the entire nail or file off outer layer of nail or what?

I have a nail over growing over my big toe nail. Is this from wearing too narrow shoes? I did start running recently and have a wider foot in the front and narrower in the back.

I forget the specifics but someone argued fat loss is limited by oxygen intake. If you lose more weight than some amount it can only be muscle loss. I vaguely remember it was something like 0.5 kg per week and 1 kg if extremely active. If you lose more you will be replacing the muscles with fat shortly after.

All true. Get a good electric manicure rotary tool with all the different grinding tips and grind off the nail where the fungus is. It’s absolutely painless. Then use anti fungal goops & smears (rubbing alcohol, foot fungus creams, etc,…) every single day. Mine was gone in a few weeks.

Yes, it has. It's more common now, though, than it used to be.

Almost 3 years carnivore and still have toenail fungus. Have zero symptoms of diabetes (great A1C and normal blood glucose). Normal weight, live in the tropics and get ton of sunshine weekly. I've had toenail fungus for over 20 years. The only time its ever gone away was when I accidentally smashed a toe and the toenail fell off and grew back normal. Not gonna smash on purpose though haha and my toes/fingers don't stay white they're flushing normally. ALSO if I trim back some of my fungal nails they DO BLEED!!!!

You have to get into ketosis to lose fat, plain and simple. No exceptions. That's because higher insulin levels lock up your fat stores. And the way to get insulin low is to forego carbs for extended periods. It's NOT about calorie restrictions, it's about where the calories come from.
Also, with regards to exfoliating your feet: add some vinegar to your footsoak bath. It will turn the dried up skin excess into a crumbly mass that you can rub or brush off. It's better than sanding away with a pumice stone or sandpaper because it will get to areas that you can't and shouldn't sand because you could cause real scratches into the sublayers.

I had no idea that toenail fungus was a real thing. My dad had athlete's foot and battled it for years. Never experienced any foot issues myself. I guess being a carnivore since 1983 made a difference?

Make sure your socks are not synthetic. Wool blends work best. A step further would be to make sure you only wear leather shoes. There are some good grounding shoe brands that are healthy for feet! One of the simplest ways, if you aren't in a snowy area, would be to use Birkenstocks and wool socks in the cold times and open toed leather sandals in the summer. Where shoes as little as possible and get your feet into the sun. Fungus can take a while to die out so keep up that great diet! Good luck!
