Azzi Fudd just committed to UCONN, so we had to drop the Azzi quarantine vlog!!
Azzi showed us what a weekend of her life was like playing AAU in the summer. She brought Paige Bueckers along with her too!
They showed us practice, team meals, recovery, and more. We also got the inside scoop on some of their TikToks. If that's not enough, we got to see Azzi BALL OUT. She legit has the nicest jumper in all of high school basketball, girls or boys. Paige is nice too of course. They're gonna be an INSANE duo at UCONN next year. Tell me who's gonna be able to stop them... I'll wait.

My daughter played basketball in school here in San Antonio and made all city among many girls who went to D1 schools so in my mind the competition was some of the toughest and throughout the state there were ladies getting signed by Baylor, OK, SMU, UCONN and many many others. During my daughters play my wife and I were there to help these AAU teams she was on, raising money, cleaning bathrooms (for the tournaments - I'd been to a few tournaments where the bathrooms were nasty so my wife and I volunteered to make sure that the girls and the guests at least had a clean bathroom).
When I saw the short pieces of the team getting together at the hotel, for dinner, on the court and saw the coaches being silly it reminded me of my experience was and will always be remember with people who's color is just a tad darker than my own. (I'm half Asian and half Hispanic with a lost background of European) We always had fun. BBQ'ing, going to the store to pick up drinks for the girls, gathering around the hotel pool with families, those were fine beautiful memories.

@@knoda2603 Tbh Olivia hasn't been the best post player on this year's team. I'm surprised to say it but I'm pretty sure Aaliyah Edwards outplayed her in big games and overall has the strength and grittiness to win battles down low. However that doesn't take away from the fact that Olivia is a great player and that Uconn is one of the top 2 teams in the nation along with South Carolina.

Nothing like an AAU basketball tournament. Games starting at 11PM. Tom izzo sitting in between coach k, and Roy Williams. Also as a white kid from central Wisconsin, I met people, specifically black and brown people who I would have never otherwise met. Two summers of playing high level AAU basketball taught me, exactly how similar we all are as human beings. Lessons I use currently as a police officer.
To this day one of the funnest nights of my life, occured at a Waffle House in Kentucky. We had just finished our last game, it was after midnight and we were hungry. Despite the fact that my two teammates and I were the only white people in this busy restaurant, we experienced nothing but love, and felt very welcomed.
After her freshman year Azzi going to talking about changing her diet, eating more healthy, and taking her conditioning more seriously. That's generally what happens after the first year at UConn.

Did you know Paige buecker is the #1 basketball player in the country. And Azzi is ranked #1 in her class. This is travel ball. Watch them play in high school.
She has good size for a guard, Paige needs to gain about 20 lbs. Also looking I'm forward to UConn being humbled again next year. Geno signed all guards when they desperately need a talented, reliable big. Dumb move.
Actually Uconn will have 5 post players next year. 4 of them being 6'5. Geno brought in a double double machine Dorka Juhaz from Ohio State and A freshman Amari Berry. They will join an already dominant Aaliyah Edwards. I'm looking for Olivia Nelson-Ododa to improve though. Piath Gabriel another post player might improve in the off season as well.
