I would be remiss if I did not mention those two consecutive monstrous offensive boards in the middle of the fourth quarter that A'ja pulled down after she had blocked a shot. The sequence reminded me of Moses Malone (rebounding fool of yesteryear in the NBA). But kudos to Connecticut who held the Aces down 30 points below it's team average. I am non-partisan; I am just looking for a five game series.

If those 2 can make a basket and if coach adjusts the zone offense, then they have a chance. But Vegas is the more all around talented team.

Ugly win. The Sun played their style of ball, Kelsey Plum had a bad game, the assists weren't up to par and the the Aces still won. Hamby played meaningful minutes. I don't expect this series to stay this ugly. Coach Hammon will make the necessary adjustments to get her team playing to their level.

Dearica Hamby won this game. We took the lead back when she came in. She's an All Star for a reason. She did EVERYTHING the starting 5 wasn't doing. We have 3 of the top 10 defensive players in the league when she's on the floor and she makes the smart play every time instead of looking to score. Clearly she's still hurt with the ridiculous minutes she's getting but the fact that A'ja is more effective at the 4 than the 5 has always played into the the known "6th woman of the year" coming off the bench. With Vegas benchas thin as it is, and D an All Star starter before her injury says she's still hurt. As a day one Aces fan I completely trust Becky Hammond's coaching because I was there for us falling short purely on Bill Lambeir's inability to properly coach this women. This is the greatest starting 5 in WNBA history prior to Hamby injury and Becky is playing chess amongst checker players... and she literally has 5 Queens on the board when healthy and these women have played way more minutes than any other starting 5 by far. Salute to Khia Stokes who has more than stepped up in place of D though. We didn't miss Liz at all. Kelsey and Jackie are made women and won't have keep having bad games. Otherwise, it would have been a blowout from start. Becky leaving Hamby in longer than 2 minutes got the win and that's the beauty of this team... they literally have an answer for everything with 5 players.
