Can NOT hold back the tears at my desk maaannn... I been praying about my attitude and how pissed I always am, how happy and on fire for God, I used to be. Then feeling so condemned for how ungrateful I've been, and the guilt I feel for not giving God the love that He deserves. I gotta get that back! This was so on time! Thank you Jesus!
This is literally me right now. I feel so hurt from my past and being reminded of it constantly. I just feel distant from God and i miss the joy I used to have.
Wow. Every single word really hit me to the bones. I don't ever post these kind of comments (and I lowkey hope no one from my church sees this lol) but, I had a strong urge to share my story. For some context, I'm a first year university student and I've been a worship leader for my church's youth team for 3 years, and a backup singer 3 years prior. Since I graduated high school, my maintenance in keeping a strong relationship with God has been very poor. I found myself questioning why am I doing all of this? Is this even all worth it? Does God even hear this? ... Is God even real? Because I wouldn't be feeling this way. As I started university, I tried to attend some events ran by one Christian club on campus but my schedule did not allow me to attend even the general events where I can get to know other Christians. After finding out that I was able to attend one small group, I ended up leaving after feeling uncomfortable from not knowing anyone and to have to take such deep conversations with them. Also, whenever it was the youth's team turn to lead worship during Sunday service, I was so invested in making the band sound great and wanting people to be to have the goosebump feeling... I wanted, just as Ptr. Mike said, "all the circumstances to be right before [people came] to worship God" through songs. It really hit me when Ptr. Mike said "you can't worship something you don't love". Did I truly love God with my heart, my soul and my mind? I was so embarrassed that I couldn't answer such a fundamental question as a Christian believer, moreover someone who lead the congregation in the worship through songs. Reflecting on what went wrong, I didn't make any effort to spend some quality time with God. The last time I sat down to study to his word was back in August. To protect and grow this small and childlike love I have for Him, all I needed to do was spend time with Him. My faith and my love has been stagnant and I made no real and dedicated effort to change this. I feel reassured knowing that God still loves me unconditionally even when my love was wavering. I feel reassured knowing that He isn't mad that I was too lazy or tired to spend time with Him. He still loves me and wants me to grow in Him. He can change me if I let and give him the opportunity to let Him change me. Thank you Ptr. Mike for this sermon. I really look forward to hearing the next sermons in this series and I hope that after I post this comment, I can take the necessary steps in order to love God truly.
I walked up there at the end. And let me tell you.. I was moved. The tears could not stop flowing because I realized I am broken. My heart is leaking. And now I found a place that can help me reconnect with God. Not because I want to find a husband, not solely because he is an amazing pastor, but because I want to find peace within God's love. Thank you Pastor Mike, I needed this more than you know.
The thing is to not desire nothing of this world. Love God and seek the kingdom first and everything will be added to you. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. God already knows your need in all areas of your life. Yes also praise God that's letting God know you trust him. Awesome preaching to the glory and honor to God's grace and mercy and love. I am in no way righteous or without sin, but since 2005 I have been beat down to the point where death is better than life. I know even in my condition it is God that has kept me up every time I can't understand why I am in a constant fight to service beyond my test. I went to many churches and never saw the love of God. I sometimes think God doesn't care about me because I am so lonely, I feel ugly, not worthy, depressed and afraid. No one wants to hear me or even help me get closer to God. But then I realize, I am allowing people to hurt me. I need to stay in a protected place.

This message resonated with so much so that I was led to comment. I have been distracted by secular things and so I have not spent much time in His presence. I teach bible study at my church but lately, I've been feeling frustrated and misplaced, wondering if I'm the right person for the job. I am now realizing that this feeling was due in part to the fact that I was teaching these kids from a leaking heart. I need to get back to the place where I belong which is right up under God because I cannot do anything without Him. While I was following along with the verses being read by Pastor Mike, a small notecard fell out with the following statement, "Nothing can ever separate you from His love." I am reminded and affirmed that God's love is within my reach, all I need to do is reach out for it.

Wow. Every single word really hit me to the bones. I don't ever post these kind of comments (and I lowkey hope no one from my church sees this lol) but, I had a strong urge to share my story. For some context, I'm a first year university student and I've been a worship leader for my church's youth team for 3 years, and a backup singer 3 years prior. Since I graduated high school, my maintenance in keeping a strong relationship with God has been very poor. I found myself questioning why am I doing all of this? Is this even all worth it? Does God even hear this? ... Is God even real? Because I wouldn't be feeling this way. As I started university, I tried to attend some events ran by one Christian club on campus but my schedule did not allow me to attend even the general events where I can get to know other Christians. After finding out that I was able to attend one small group, I ended up leaving after feeling uncomfortable from not knowing anyone and to have to take such deep conversations with them. Also, whenever it was the youth's team turn to lead worship during Sunday service, I was so invested in making the band sound great and wanting people to be to have the goosebump feeling... I wanted, just as Ptr. Mike said, "all the circumstances to be right before [people came] to worship God" through songs. It really hit me when Ptr. Mike said "you can't worship something you don't love". Did I truly love God with my heart, my soul and my mind? I was so embarrassed that I couldn't answer such a fundamental question as a Christian believer, moreover someone who lead the congregation in the worship through songs. Reflecting on what went wrong, I didn't make any effort to spend some quality time with God. The last time I sat down to study to his word was back in August. To protect and grow this small and childlike love I have for Him, all I needed to do was spend time with Him. My faith and my love has been stagnant and I made no real and dedicated effort to change this. I feel reassured knowing that God still loves me unconditionally even when my love was wavering. I feel reassured knowing that He isn't mad that I was too lazy or tired to spend time with Him. He still loves me and wants me to grow in Him. He can change me if I let and give him the opportunity to let Him change me. Thank you Ptr. Mike for this sermon. I really look forward to hearing the next sermons in this series and I hope that after I post this comment, I can take the necessary steps in order to love God truly.

God already knows your need in all areas of your life. Yes also praise God that's letting God know you trust him. I know even in my condition it is God that has kept me up every time I can't understand why I am in a constant fight to service beyond my test. I went to many churches and never saw the love of God. I'm from Nairobi, Kenya. Been struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. Even attempted it twice. Was once a Christian. A good one. This week, I felt a call to come back to worship. This message resonated with so much so that I was led to comment. I have been distracted by secular things and so I have not spent much time in His presence. I teach bible study at my church but lately, I've been feeling frustrated and misplaced, wondering if I'm the right person for the job. I am now realizing that this feeling was due in part to the fact that I was teaching these kids from a leaking heart. I need to get back to the place where I belong which is right up under God because I cannot do anything without Him. While I was following along with the verses being read by Pastor Mike, a small notecard fell out with the following statement, "Nothing can ever separate you from His love." I am reminded and affirmed that God's love is within my reach, all I need to do is reach out for it.
