  • Imagine if I told you that our universe has been around forever, even before the Big Bang. It might sound pretty wild, right? Well, hold onto your hats because renowned physicist Brian Cox is on board with this mind-bending idea.

The beauty of science is that it discovers, theorises, tries, concludes, and if mistaken, learns and corrects. It's fascinating and beautiful that there are so many things we still don't know about the universe. There is so much for us left to discover, to learn, to comprehend, to know.

I don’t think it’s okay to make mistakes about “ultimate reality” questions. It leads to mis information and fallacies
It’s okay to make a mistake on a math test but not publish mistakes to half the world

@@techteampxla2950 this is how we learn, however. How else will we understand reality? The more we learn, the more we expand our horizons, and the fewer fallacies and mistakes we will make. It takes time.
This is why, in modern science, we speak carefully. We say "as far as we know", we speak of "indicators", and unless something is proven and certain, we will make sure to be cautious.
That too is something that we've learned from past mistakes. The public have to catch up.

@@nataliaprzeszowska I wish I could agree but there are no such indicators from these talks , transcribe what they are saying and you never hear “we believe “ just strong statements that are misleading and usually fallacies if the wording is analyzed.
Just the title itself is false and unproven and a strong statement saying “universe existed before the Big Bang” that can’t even be right ???

  • @MarkC-iq2bi

Maybe black holes as you observe them actually served as the waters that expanded the universe and the seeds. There direction was reversed and sealed after the big bang if that's the fabric of space time as you see it then that fabric would be able to move about all particles faster then the speed of light as even light can't escape it. One possibility.

  • @bsmith577
    @bsmith577 26 дней назад +3

The universe has always existed because space is the universe and has always been, it is a constant that does not shrink or grow. Matter within space also contains space which creates a vibration between matter and space that is gravity and creates the observable universe. Space and all the matter within it is like a galaxy circling a black hole and falling towards it until matter within the black hole becomes equal to the gravity of space and with the help of centrifugal force starts to expand into our flat observable universe.

Very controversial. As to Hawking radiation from BHs, it's thermal and contains zero information about what fell into the hole. The cyclic universe is an old idea, as people have problems with the initial singularity. But that cannot be avoided. And the current expansion will hardly reverse itself and become a the Big Crunch. The multiverse is ruled out by Occam's razor. Quantum theory is not well understood, in particular in a situation where the gravitational field is not a static background. It is possible that spacetime is an emergent property of a very simple system with zero entropy.

It is possible or as possible as any other guess. But even the CC concept still misses a key point. How did these galaxies get here so soon. Just stretch the theory further that yes all the matter and energy was consumed by black holes as the prior universe collapsed. But when most of those black holes merged or radiated and then exploded into the new universe there could be one or two black holes with the last matter or saw galaxies not yet sucked into the hole. When the near by massive black hole exploded it sucked in the other black holes and the nearby final few galaxies , like through a hole and them emerge in the new universe. One would think the galaxies would be a bit in pieces or stretched if true. As good a thought as any. Cheers

Let’s say 2 zero dimensional points were separated by time, yet still both existed simultaneously. If 1 second was like 1 second to one of those zero dimensional points, but 1 week was like 1 second to the other, it would make sense why the two are separated by time yet still exist simultaneously.
If 100 years went by while we never had a sense of being, that 100 years to us would seem like a flash because we wouldn’t have any memory of not having a sense of being.
Let’s say we never had a sense of being forever. Would that infinitely long period of time be like a flash to us. Well if an infinitely long period of time existed it would be impossible to measure a finite period of time against it.
I think the only way our sense of being can not exist, is if instead of 1 second feeling like one second, and 1 hour or 1 month felt like a second, our sense of being would not exist to someone who 1 second was like 1 second to. So if 1 week felt like 1 second to us, but 1 second felt like 1 second to the person standing next to us, according to that person standing next to us our sense of being does not exist.
So if 1 week is like 1 second to us, would that mathematically be the same as our sense of being not existing for ever, ever and ever.
To us, a hurricane, wave, or falling line of dominos doesn’t have a sense of being, but from what has been discussed is that really true.

In accordance with the inflationary model, in the initial stage of its evolution the Universe experienced a period of accelerated expansion - inflation. It is assumed that at this point the Universe was “empty and cold” (only a high-energy scalar field existed) and then filled with hot matter that continued to expand.

When they make statements like, "No matter how small the odds of life coming into existence may be, it is inevitable because of infinity," they have crossed from hard science to faith. Eternity and infinity are not real things. They are concepts or ideas. When you have to insert an idea into your equation to make the math work, you might as well say, "God did it."

Spacetime is a four dimensional entity. If we have space, then we have time, and vice versa: if we have time, then we must have space.
The notion that time did not exist before the big bang is not logical. Time is timeless; there is no arbitrary zero point of time. We can obviously rewind to a billion years before the big bang in time.
If we can extend time to before the big bang, then space must also have existed before the big bang, because where we have time, we also have space.

Im a 52 year old athiest leaning towards agnostic I see some comments about it wasnt God come on if your a athiest you should really rethink this i was a hardcore athiest though my teens to early 50s maybe there was something probably not what ideal of a religious person concept of a supreme entity but we also discovered 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe that what changing me be open to a God every time i see new discovers i just dont know 😊

I used to call myself an atheist. I think the real problem for me was religion. Me and God are cool now, we both steer clear of worship.

This isnt the same video i commented to its been changed so to say my comment was to confirm that religion and the belief of god still holds more reality than any scientific speculation witch history has proven so far that what they say is in the past has been proven to be wrong so to belive in witch religion or science of our creation and how it started was proven that the big bang theory was just a science belief witch has as much credibility as the a religious belief but im choseing god first

Anything no matter how irrational or unsubstantiated would be accepted…except for God.
The real mystery is not the Universe, the real mystery is there rejection of God.
Any evidence for God would be twisted as proving ‘no need for God’.

These videos are basically to educate religious people. God is the universe and vice versa. Except conversations about reality cannot be held if all the person rants about is god this god that enough with that god crap already there is more to understand than that and you are shallow headed if the word god is all you use to define every aspect of existence. Sure god did it, farts smell, sound is loud and light is bright there are mechanics behind the forces of nature and a god used to describe them gets humanity no where.

A theory in the context of science is significantly different from the common vernacular usage of the word.
Everything you've ever used in your life was constructed based on theories.
Facts are something else entirely; a theory can contain facts, but it cannot be a fact on its own.

    • @Robert_L_Whitlatch

No it's not even a theory. Atleast not a good one. A real scientific theory can be observed, repeated, but not fully proved. We can't verry well observe and repeat a BIG BANG so it's just a thought of what may have happened. Now you can call that a theory if you wish but I do not consider it a legitimate sceintific theory

All those fantastical theories to try and explain the unexplainable! To stick to the gravity model neutron stars are supposed to spin around there axis in second or sub second times...is that even possible? Uy scuti one of the most massive solar bodies known, billions of times the mass of the sun is that even possible, wont it implode on itself in the gravity model of things? I have given up on reading about this stuff , cause i know there is a great chance it is erroneous!

Yes and they make series about it now, but a cute theory, but false. Just chill, multiple universes lol. Just map our universe ok? Then start talk about other universes. We have only discovered 8% of the seas , not even the debt of the seas are mapped except with a suspicious Ecco
