How on earth are Brent's videos getting such low views? They are some of the best and most informative videos on RUclips
Thank you!
Totally agree! It'll take some time.....Rome was not built in a day! keep up the great work!
Simple answer is:
There are very few craftsman and people that actually care anymore.
It’s all production
how many people do this level of work? i wish i had this customer, but they are like 1:100,000 and they are gonna go to the same guy with a history of success every time. I like this idea of making the chair rail continuous with the stool. hope I get to try it some day.
I can not disagree with you buddy. This Guy is one of kind nowadays.
Brent Hull is the people's champ and a true global hero!
LOL.
Beauty. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Man you are a master. Restoring a period home in Ireland. Couldn't do it without these vids.
So glad to hear. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks again Brent. .. keep em coming
Will do!
I always say a good attention to detail trim carpenter will never have end grain showing
Word!!
this has come out at the best time, thanks heaps from Australia
Cool. Your welcome!
Thank you for this video. I would really like if you could address how to seamlessly run a chair rail into and out of the window stool. What mouldings are needed?
Good idea, i'll work on it.
@@BrentHull that would be fantastic. I live in an 1800s Pennsylvania Farmhouse and I am planning to paint and put the chair rail where it should be this summer.
I agree, I have the same question -- how should the sill and chair rail interact if they are at the same height? Would the sill bump out a little farther into the room than the chair rail? Would the window apron simply be the top rail of the wainscot?
We’re working with a semi-mid-century modern style, but your comment that weight should look supported is still absolutely relevant. Even with the simple structure, a vertical element that is firmly fixed but that looks like it is just “hanging”, is jarring. I also think that over supported (an excessive, out of scale support) is as much a bother. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for sharing!!
Really great details!
Nice! Thanks!
Another great video. WE look foward to the next installment!
Thanks!
Outstanding video 😊. We cannot wait until your next great video.
This is a very educational video 😊
Many thanks
Fabulous. Love the how-to-do-it.
Thanks!!
This is incredible. I had no idea trim could be this useful. I love this!
Glad it was helpful!
Oh yes. Exactly what I was looking for. I immediately subscribed.
Welcome aboard! Thanks!
Great work, I just finished nearly the same thing. My original sill and apron did not have a return, so I kept it the same. The return on it is a step up. I also like the adjustable vertical stops.
Cool. Thanks so much!
So detailed! Thanks for the educational videos! They will help alot of woodworkers become craftsman!!
I hope so! Thx for watching.
This is a great video, I appreciate the details and the look of the moldings.
Thank you very much!
I love your window.Brent. I recently trimmed some old windows the way you are trimming yours.
Nice! Thx
Excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful! This is really going to help me with trimming out windows in our first house. Yourself and Finish Carpentry TV really are incredible craftsmen.
Glad it was helpful! Thx for the feedback!
beautiful work my friend,very talented.
Thank you!! Thanks for watching.
I was waiting for this video.
Very informative thanks Brent
Glad you liked it! Thx for watching.
I thought rugs tied a room together.....great videos.
HaHa, thanks for watching.
I always preferred to use a stool and apron rather than picture frame the windows. Fortunately most of my work has been remodeling so there wasn’t too much call for picture framing.
I agree. thx.
Nice job Brent, I love your videos your passion is great, the windsor one moulding’s look very good, you think some of the work in America has gone cheap, you would be horrified to see some of the work in England, mostly MDF now most of the door trim is 2 3/4 it’s cheap.
Shoot. It's a problem. Cheers from Texas.
Hi Brent, by the way when you were using your table saw pushing that window stool though, you scared me it looked like your hand was too close to the blade.
noted. thanks.
Brent, where did you purchase the gold colored screws where you adjust the casing stop?
A number of places have them, antique house of hardware for one. Cheers.
Brent - You frequently mention tying in the chair rail to the window but don't show how it done. Is it an extension of the sill or apron? Or is a combination of both?
both, it can either be a chair rail that butts into the window sill and visually ties them together, or it can be a modified window sill that inspires the chair rail and runs around the room.
Is there any chance of hiring you for consultation? I am building a home and will require a sill design for my european style tilt and turn triple pane windows and haven't figured out the details yet. Would love to hire you for assistance if possible.
Yes, I do a lot of consulting around the country. Email me details to info@brenthull.com Thanks.
Brent, I love your videos! But I did cringe when your hand went right over that table saw blade.
Thanks, I'll be more careful.
Surprised you have all your fingers
Lucky I guess.
Thought this also. I was getting anxious 😬 watching. Good video though.
And this whole time I thought it was the rug that tied the room together.
Haha, that too.
Truly love your wealth of knowledge. Sorry to say this but you need to get a better camera guy that follows your demonstration and hand work and not put the camera on you so much. We hear what you are saying and prefer to see what it is that you are talking about. When the camera is on you talking we miss what you are focusing and pointing out on. Otherwise this video is hard to follow and disconnects the story and why you are doing this demo. A collage of you cutting trim work is not great for educational videos if this is how the camera guy thinks will solve this in post editing. Otherwise, great content and references.
Thanks for the feedback.
Brent, careful with those saws! You're taking big chances with your hands holding the molding over those blades. Be safe. You're too influential to be doing unsafe work on your videos. Please be safe.
Noted. Thanks
