You Won! I have been watching MSR for a while, and this is my first time tuning into your chan. You won because you included the one thing often overlooked, the toilet.
I think you won on design and the gadget factor. Kevin definitely gets the win for greater function, finishes and air flow. No way to get air movement in your glamper except to open the doors and invite the critters.
Fowler is the winner on design and function. Enjoyed how you made it with the bent plywood. That was awesome. Your accessories are over the top....that equals GLAMPING....WINNER
I was really looking forward to the toilet beside the cooler... :-) I think for your retrofit you should just bolt a toilet seat to the tongue of the trailer.
God’s blessings to all those out there who are not afraid to glorify God’s name and give Him thanks. It always makes my heart smile when I hear folks pray no matter who’s watching or what the situation is. Nice to know there are many of us believers out there. I love your little camper. The two are so different that I don’t think it would be fair to declare one a winner over the other. I think ya both are winners in my book for having the motivation and skills to actually do it. So kudos to both of you great job 😊
I love the camper- but I think insulation was a missed important thing. And you should of had the roofers throw a few shingles on the Top, or you should have white or black tarred it or something? Water proof is very necessary. I just say these things because I live in a camper with my granddaughter full time. So it's just my concerning thoughts! I wish I could afford the whole power system thing- it is awesome. We live on my SSDI so that is really expensive for us. But hey great job- I am about to check out your competition- if they don't show the whole build, then in my eyes you probably top it. But we will see! Lol congratulations- love the glamper!
Okay, there's different amenities in both glampers. I love your tailgate, and full size bed. I'll take a wild guess the overall weight of your glamper is lighter. The other glamper is definitely better insulated, and can handle hot and cold temperatures better. It's got a fireplace which is awesome. I have to give to the other guy's for resilience to weather conditions, better building materials, and I think their lighting is better.
Not to mention storage, and this one could certainly use a painjob. Bonus points for the air fryer, TV and console (though points lost for no real fridge) but to be fair those things can all easily just be used in the other one with zero changes needed to it's design anyway.
He had the very things you needed and you had the very glamping ideas he needed. For example: You = TV, microwave, air fryer, hot plate etc. oh and a comfy bed. MSR: tables, wood stove, insulation, and overall aesthetics. Now come to think of it, you had the very essence of what glamping means (you know, stuff most ppl wouldn’t bring to camp). Basically he just had things to maintain a comfortable temperature and a fridge. So I’m going to say that YOU WIN! 🎉. Now, let’s see you guys put both camper ideas into one!
Both are amazing. I want to see more things you do to yours. In the end I see Modern Self Reliance as 2 week get away style and Fowler's Makery and Mischief a weekend over-nighter. So I have to go with Kevin for the all-rounder winner.
This was really great, Fowler. You have me thinking... again. I want this. And I love to build stuff. In the food industry we call them "drums and paddles."

@@nmcc.2601 I am working on a teardrop trailer, the video is about glamping campers. If I was going to be bias, I would have chosen Zach's. I chose Kevin's because of the extras.
Honestly Fowler,,your build has streamlined and tech bonuses..kevins build is rustic and cabin like...both builds have pros and cons...all and all,,both of you are winners for sharing knowledge with those who don't know..

You both have mad skills in different areas, but to compare your finished masterpieces would be like comparing the Pyramids of Egypt to the Eiffel Tower in France. There is no comparison. You have done what I have wanted to do: build an aerodynamic sleeper for one. Only my car is a Prius short version, which by the way is the same color as your car, and very close in size. It cannot tow more 5han 1200 lbs though, according to Toyota. Many do tow more. But your design work and detailing really rock! I would never be up for all that you did to make it skill wise, even if I had no time constraints like you did. Maybe I should hire you! But your trailer probably weighs 1200 lbs before you added the top!
Kevins has awesome windows, and I love the insulation and woodstove. I love the shape of yours better though. Your lack of windows makes me vote for Kevins Glamper though.
For the rebuild, I suggest a light on the hatch. Also the light for the lower shelf (like you already suggested). Would it be worth it, to have a forward hatch as well? Or, do you think there would be too much risk of leaking. No solar panels to recharge the power-cell? Maybe a mini-oven. It looks like you might have room. You can add a flip out panel on the forward wall, to give you a seat back. I assume you plan to finish the wood. Oil? Paint? What about heat in colder weather I am seeing an 'apples and oranges' comparison here. MSR's is by far, more weather tight and comfortable. Definitely something I could do (maybe). He definitely seems to have a better trailer base, where you might have to find another better trailer. I do see a lot of potential for noise as things bounce around in his. Your trailer looks more aerodynamic and can probably handle higher speeds. However, at this point it has not been weatherized and you haven't accounted for a heat source in colder weather. As it stands, both need finishing touches. MSR's trailer seems to be four season, yours could be. You already spent the night in it, and is already stocked. His has a heat source, insulation, but is not fully wired or stocked. He may have taken precautions, but I still worry the potential for some of those roof slats blowing off. All things considered, I call it a draw. Looking forward to an update video.
I only saw your build. What I liked about your build, was that it was totally functional and build able in one week, by one person , with a little help with the awkward stuff, but totally do-able by one person, using mostly basic tools. Thumbs up! I have a motorcycle trailer that I bought at a yard sale with the same intention as you, but it came with zero rust, a diamond plate floor, 14" wheels, zero rust...
I commend your craftsmanship and the vision you had for your build. I think your build suites you better than Kevin's build would suit you. I say you both win. I can honestly say in my younger years I would have enjoyed the build design you came up with. As I am in my 40's now, I prefer the style that Kevin built. I vote for yours Zach. Every bit of that was your hands and not premade/upcycled. I'm sure you're going to tweak yours with some additional ventilation, insulation as needed, etc. Well done to both channels!
You are going to want to put some screen windows in there to aid airflow especially for humid nights, I probably don't have to tell you that though. Also any plans to insulate it for fall or winter use? Just curious.
Awesome! Was watching Kevin's build and found you (thought you looked familiar). I have to give you extra credit for the comic test run. I suggest a giant pillow for your back, a small one under your knees, and a serving tray for your table. You have my vote.
The Sliding Dumb Waiter & under bed storage via separate "storage" or kitchenette are excellent ideas...& would be great additions to the self reliance guy's glamper. Tools, Spare, electric/battery impact (for quick tire change or with leveling jacks added ^solving the hitch height, etc. worry) or even a disassembled bicycle could be stowed conveniently in the area. Both are excellent. Thanks for sharing!
You are doing a wonderful job!! You are working with wood and by yourself! Fowler had several people helping him plus those garage panels.... it's not an equal build.
I’d love to see version 2.0 with your skills utilized on the structure and modern self reliance’s interior planning and finishing. Not that yours isn’t awesome, but I did have to give them the win pretty much just cause I felt like it was more comfortable looking inside. Teardrop is definitely better though and your carpentry skills are deadly.
Lots of mention for windows but I say add a skylight! You get light and can see the stars. For a table you could add a little slide out from under your tv stand that wouldn’t take much space.
Your not thinking "glamping" enough. You need a folding table top that mounts to either the side or ceiling something that after your done with you can fold it out of the way. And maybe a folding table that pops out of the back for more space.... I love the video and the build!!!
Being asked to vote on who did it better between these two kinda feels like mom and dad are getting divorced and making you choose who to live with😂😂.....such a hard decision!
I really loved what you did. The camper has a cool shape. I love how you did the outside shelves, but what happens if its windy and raining outside. You need a window as well. Your bed takes up the entire space. It is still really cool. I think with a few adjustments, this Glamper would Rock! You are an amazing builder and your friends too. I love ping pong and played it for years. Fantastic work !! 😊🌷🎶
No way, I live only 2,000 miles away on the other side of the Atlantic. Seriously though, Maine is a beautiful place. One of my 3 favourite spots in America.

Both are so different from each other so, I have to call a tie
Going to get hot in there. Maybe a couple of windows will help.
Sun roof!
With screens to keep the bugs out. And a rooftop fan unit.
He saiid something about a screen door
yes, windows! it feels a bit claustrophobic
You Won! They had better lights, but for overall features and room, I would say you win.
I did not get that choice

You Win!
I think Fowler"s is more of a "Glamper" IMO, But the work Modern Self Reliance did is more showy still very well done both of you.
I have loyalty and faith. Can't wait to see what you do next! You WIN!
Love the bigger bed. Love your outdoor cooking.
It looked like a llama outside the shed, just when the light fell down. A llama..?
I thought it was a dear
I thought it was Harry Potter's patronus.
Head was wrong to be a deer so I think it was a Llama. Lol
@@bend9195 😁
Llama
Please tell me there’s gonna be a camping video with that in the near future
Yeah, a cool camping vid with both campers together!
ROAD TRIP!!!!!
Are we not going to talk about the Deer in the back round after the light fell😂
It looks like a filter like a lama
I really loved what you did. The camper has a cool shape. I love how you did the outside shelves, but what happens if its windy and raining outside. You need a window as well. Your bed takes up the entire space. It is still really cool. I think with a few adjustments, this Glamper would Rock! You are an amazing builder and your friends too. I love ping pong and played it for years. Fantastic work !! 😊🌷🎶
Aw bless ya, that was TOTALLY AWESOME. love the channel and content. Prayer!
What if I feel like you're both winners? Ooh, I got it!
You participated.
I literally live like a town away from Zach in Waldoboro Maine
Go check him out
No way, I live only 2,000 miles away on the other side of the Atlantic. Seriously though, Maine is a beautiful place. One of my 3 favourite spots in America.
Put a lite on the bottom of the back door led and it will light everything up
Great build, but I vote for the recycling aspect of MSR over paying a grand for processed plywood. You do nice work, tho! Glad he turned me on to your site, I'll be back to watch more!!
Leave it to you to burn coffee didn’t even know that was a thing😂 this whole video was amazing it’s not all perfection it’s tru real stuff like burning a coffee
