Thanks for sharing your video. It really helped me understand what I was getting into. One thing I discovered in the process is that it's easier to remove/install the shock from the top-side instead of fishing it out from below between the suspension and brake lines. Cheers!
i hope you can make a video on how to replace front control arm replacement. I have heard a lot of people that it's hard to do it if your not a mechanic. I can't find a video about it.
Hi I was trying to replace my rear strut but seems like bearing cannot fit correctly as genuine part? Do u know if I can use it like this? The part that I buy was GM 19241359
I would definitely do it after the front struts but it isn't quite as important for the rears. But getting your car realigned every once in a while doesn't hurt.
At least 2 others on this thread have commented about the lack of use of safety stands. If you're going to promote DIY videos on car repairs, particularly if the operation requires lifting the vehicle, please be responsible and address this critical and vital safety practice. One should NEVER rely on the hydraulic static pressure of a floor jack without the back-up support of safety stands. That is patently dangerous and for novices viewing these DIY videos, safety should ALWAYS be emphasized first & foremost before launching into the main subject matter of your videos!
Great job! Please use the jack stands.
Thank you for the post this is a huge help! Great video
Straightforward and precise instructions!! Thanks a MILLION, for sharing! 🔧🔩😊
Great video - doing this today and will save me ton of time
I didn't realize it was that easy. Good instruction. Thanks.

I have a 2010 Malibu. This seems pretty easy. What are somethings that can go wrong or present problems?
Any idea how to replace the top mount bolt if you break it off while tightening the nut?
You're so smart, always!!
Did you have a loud knocking noise coming from the back? Im thinking i need shocks- I have same car/color. Had good lick with it so far.
Not that I can remember. The reason I had changed them out it because there was irregular wear on the tires and to much bounce in the rear.
First off, great tutorial and second, what kind of impact gun is that and the size? Thanks bro
Thanks! Its a 1/2" snap-on Impact it's over 5 years old.
Did you have to leave it connected on the top to get the bottom of the shock loose?
I have a 2013 Malibu, Is the process the same or did GM change the way they are installed?
Is this process the same for a 2014-2015 Malibu.
thank you
good job
Appreciate u homie. Thanks for the vid
Awesome thank you!!
did you do the front struts
No I did not.
Riding with the cruise control gets me everytime lol..
How do u know if u need shocks on your car
Here's a good video that shows how to diagnose shocks ruclips.net/video/BPI9beSabdI/видео.html
How much do the shocks normally cost for the Chevy Malibu?
Look on the Autozone website then use the part number on Rock Auto where the same part(s) are cheaper.
How long does it takes to replace struts
If its just the rear ones it shouldn't take more then half hour.
do the 2004 have the same set up
I am not sure about that.
👍👍👍👍👍
Does anyone know if you change the rear or front struts, do you need to get an alignment?
I would definitely do it after the front struts but it isn't quite as important for the rears. But getting your car realigned every once in a while doesn't hurt.
LMFAO he said "THESE NUTS" 😂

What are the specs for that vehicle
Ever heard of using jack stands!?😮🤔
Yes I have! Do you advise them?
Yes I think it would be wise for you to use them!
That was easy 😂
Ahh yeah good ol German Specs (goodntight) LOL
My rear end wobbles bad when I hit a bump or go fast...it's not my tires ...u think it's the shocks?
I'm not sure, It's hard to say if that is your problem or not.
