I recently purchased the Speedmaster 57 but I am struggling a bit with winding the watch any idea how many times do I wind it to fully charge the watch. As I am worried I might over do it and damage the movement
Just make sure the crown is in the closed position and that you are winding in the correct direction (clockwise ie away from you towards the top). When I bought mine I was told it could be wound every other day as opposed to once a day...
@@kingfarticusreturns6371I never had a manually wound watch before, can you do the winding as it’s running ? Or do you have pause the time keeping in order to do the winding ?
No you don't have to pause it. Most of these watches have push pull crowns so I don't see how you'd even be able to-by default, the watch can only be wound when the crown is in the closed (running) position. Regardless it's better not to try to pause it because then you have to keep resetting the time yourself.
Manual wind and 50m water resistance are dealbreakers right there, before you get any further. Having to hand wind a big fat sports watch or worry about getting it soaked is ridiculous.
@@Raven77844 I don't know. For whatever reason, most of these watch videos suggest that you need a water resistance rating of close to 100m to make it safer for swimming. You're probably right that 50m is more than good enough.
Lol word. But now down the road we see how he was the one that revolutionized and changed the game with a big man point, 2, 3 and 4 guards. Like this beauty maybe we learn to appreciate it in the long run?
Both great watches. However, Omega watches are more accurate and Rolex inflates the demand of their watches. Rolex is an advertisement on your wrist. It's all about what you want from your watch.
Fantastic review yet again. Thank you!

I have one … you wind it till you cannot turn it anymore it says in the manual… you will definitely know when the crown stops winding

these are choice👌
Challenge for me is all that polish scares me and makes the watch age from marring much faster than a fully brushed watch.
Not really, that’s why socket-sets and car mechanics tools are polished.

You swim or drop your watch deeper than 50M on a regular basis?. Lol
Unless you're a scuba diver, ppl put too much focus on this feature.

@@Raven77844you can not swim with a 50m watch. Atleast 100m for alswimming. A 30m watch is basically only splashproof

@@andreikun Omega actually states that they test the watch at 50m and it supports vigorous movement as part of the METAS standard.
Rolex and omega are like jordan and pippen, they work together to shine, however i never had a pippen poster on my wall, just saying

13.3 mm thick manual wind? Cmon Omega that coaxial escapement needs a shave
Its actually 12.9mm, according to Omega.
