Definite “gamesmanship”. Naazim Richardson did it to Trinidad during his Hopkins fight. Except that Hopkins was the naturally bigger guy, and the fight was delayed because of 9/11. Therefore, Trinidad couldn’t fly back to PR and Hopkins left to Philadelphia. Considering all of that, Hopkins had the psychological edge…

@P N he technically is the rep in that hea representing the opposing side. What you're confused with or perhaps the original commentor is confused about is not having an "official" inspecting the wrapping of hands which is not entirely necessary if you have your opponents coach watching you wrap your hands. Since officials can be corrupt they may let things slide whereas its highly unlikely your opponents coach is corrupt.

There are typically 1 or 2 inspectors "in the back" during an event and an entire card worth of fighters getting wrapped at the exact same time. Please explain how 1-2 people are supposed to watch upwards of a dozen fighters getting their hands wrapped. They can't. The inspectors here did exactly the right thing. Some commissions have crazy rules about wrapping hands but from wrapping hands myself, I think the standard gauze tape done works for everyone.
