The ESV normal study Bible is also two columns. This version though is not the full study version. It say 12,000 notes (instead of 20,000) and it say “adapted from the ESV Study Bible. So almost but not quite the perfect ESV Bible.
Pastor Everhard another alternative to cutting the flap due to the leather cord being a bit cumbersome, is using 2 rivet snaps. If you need help with that I can help you find the right tools for that. A local leather shop can also get that done in 5 mins.
This really appeals to me. I have the regular journaling version of this exact Bible. Adding the study materials would be awesome! Wish the paper was the same though. I like that yellow thicker paper
What this is is the ESV Student Study Bible, which is a pared down version of the ESV Study Bible. It will be a tradeoff between the desire to journal vs. the desire for truly comprehensive notes and content.
I wish I could have purchased the real leather, I bought the brown faux leather one and I am going to turn it into my primary bible :) sooooo excited that crossway made this! EXACTLY what I was looking for
Yeah... I am gonna have to get one of these and do a review! I never thought wide margin and study Bible could be a "both/and" situation. Turns out, squares triumph over rectangles.
Gahhh. I just tried to get an ESV Study Bible bound in a ring binder by a local binder so I could add pages for notes. It didn’t work so I bought a journaling Bible and just figured that would have to do. Now they introduce this… guess I’m buying another Bible lol.
Leave a half inch on the leather so you can fold, glue, and crimp it. *Note: Very delicately with a razor knife scratch the leather face, so it will glue better.
I have the ESV Study Bible. It's in large print, with two columns and large verse numbers. I LOVE IT! Only problem: no room for notes. And, I have put in many inserts.. a few of my own notes, and notes from my other readings, put in various spots. The long strap and cover, to keep inserts in, with extra space for notes is EXACTLY what I'm wishing for. Only, I agree...I prefer the off white paper. I just may have to see if I can find this in a store to see if it will work for me. Thank you so much for bringing it to attention!
I just commented, and thought about comparing my ESV Study Bible to my son's ESV STUDENT Study Bible. Going ONLY on your video excerpt in Zechariah...it looks exactly like my son's Student Study Bible. Yes, the Student Study Bible is reduced from what the standard ESV study Bible offers, but also a few different notations that aren't in the regular ESV.. llike "Did you know?" quips..... (probably for newer students to the Bible....still, very interesting...and very helpful.) I enjoy both... just thought I'd help add on to your review. Note* The Student Study Bible is not childlike....it is fine for anyone. The standard Study Bible is just more scholarly.
I also adore my large print ESV Study! I don't take notes in Bibles these days, so that's not a need for me. My eyes are not getting any better as I age, so I was very happy to see large print even existed for the ESV Study. I also don't have much money these days. I was blessed to have a bit of extra cash at the time I found this one on sale.
I eventually lost the use of an arm following the wars, which makes laying in 4H-penciled guidelines with a ruled straightedge practically impossible. And I miss putting notes in my Bible ENORMOUSLY. This could work--thank you!
This is a beautiful bible, and it looks very sturdy. I stopped writing in bibles back in the early 1990s because I didn't do it well. Attempts since have yielded even worse results. However, I think it will work for some bible students. Personally, I like the flap. Thanks for the review.
Love the dual column. Not a fan of the small font and super-thin paper… I’m sure paper is white so it doesn’t washout the cream theme they have running throughout. Would LOVE to see something like this in NASB! ❤️🔥😍🥰
Looks like the notes and back matter from the ESV Student study Bible. I just got one to check them out as they can be much more affordable and a more manageable size. It's far from a replacement for the full ESV Study Bible, but is very suitable for someone who might be intimidated or overwhelmed by the real deal.
I love the square shape, and the two inch margins. Not a huge fan of the white paper however. I would love to know the size of the font though.......as an elderly person, the size of the font is hugely important to me. Overall though I love the idea of a study bible having such wide margins for notes......and the ESV version is my favourite.
I really like this bible but I wish the paper wasn’t so thin. I bought the hard cover and find the paper to be like rice paper thin and easily wrinkles. I will like only write on sticky notes.
There was a Scofield reference bible which is basically a study bible that came in a wide margin. I do not agree with Scofield and would not recommend his atudy notes but i liked the layout and the idea of a wide margin study bible. If they took the personal size esv study bible and just exte ded the margins out to give an inch all the way around i dont think it would be any bigger than the normal size esv study bible.
Can you show us how pens/pencils perform on this paper? I almost bought this Bible but was spooked when the Amazon reviews said it was too flimsy for actual note taking.
Please don't cut off the flap, especially if you will be handing it off to someone else. The leather cover and flap with the strap reminds me of my youth. God bless.
What I want in a bible and can never find b/c it's just not available: 1. MUST be GIANT print. 2. wide-margin 3. references 4. KJV/NKJV. 5. I don't care about covers. I don't need cow-hide or goat skin. I think they're highly overrated. 6. Don't care how thick it has to be. When you find one, let me know.

I’ve been wanting to do this to mine or just cut the flap off. 😊

I think the notes follow the ESV student study Bible.
😅Yes, the blurb on the back of the box says it's based on their Student Study Bible
I wish I could have purchased the real leather, I bought the brown faux leather one and I am going to turn it into my primary bible :) sooooo excited that crossway made this! EXACTLY what I was looking for
A enthusiastic review, great for- Now if only Nelson could develop a nkjv as a competitive option
@matthew_everhard PLEASE DO A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PASTOR as a seminarian i would love to see what a week or a day looks like in a pastors life

I’ve literally bought a new ESV Study Bible and a ESV Journaling Bible in the last 4 months. Now they will both be replaced by this.
I sorely wish it was single-column, but it's a nice concept, and I'm glad to see someone do it.
It is also available in single column.
@@barkley7783can you link it please? I can't find it?

I believe Cambridge had a wide margin study Bible in NRSV.

Thanks for the review.
Lol now I use sticky notes inside works great! God bless you, brother
I also gave up writing in my Bibles. My penmanship is horrible.
Welcome back to this aspect of your ministry 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thank you for the review of this Bible...it is appreciated!

Very cool! I'll have to look into that one!

Thank you for not reviewing from your desk! I missed these from you 👌🏼
It's nice to see another review!
Please don't cut that bible 🙏 it is perfect as is. But yes, please DO write all over the inside thats a plus
I wouldn't cut the cover. Find a way to use magnets to close the flap.
If you a member of Crossway this Bible is on sale for $80.00
The link is to a dark brown Bible.
Almost looks like the student study Bible
Beautiful Bible, wow 2 inch margins. Sadly, I can't do 7.5 text size.

I think it's a 7.5 pt type. Too small.😑 8 or 8.5 would be good.
I really like this bible but I wish the paper wasn’t so thin. I bought the hard cover and find the paper to be like rice paper thin and easily wrinkles. I will like only write on sticky notes.
Same here. The paper is too thin.
It’s the ESV Student Bible with a 2” margin…pretty sure. 👍

7.5 font is a no go for me but sure is nice looking.
This is the Student study Bible as a journaling Bible.
Can you show us how pens/pencils perform on this paper? I almost bought this Bible but was spooked when the Amazon reviews said it was too flimsy for actual note taking.
I’ve seen some reviews and comments saying that the paper is very thin and bad. How was it for you?
I think so, too. I cannot use my regular pens. Only a pencil, and I really don´t like writing with pencil.
it looks a bit like the concise study bibles notes mixed with the student bible study notes i have the 3 the esv study bible but i could be wrong
Make dandelion tea with weed
Anything similar for NKJV?
Please don't cut off the flap, especially if you will be handing it off to someone else. The leather cover and flap with the strap reminds me of my youth. God bless.
Looking for a NlV version
Can you help me pick an edition of Josephus? I've been researching to get his antiquities and would love your input. What's on your bookshelf?
The paper is a issue to much ghosting
The paper in this is very thin
the content looks more like the Global Study Bible
If only it came in red letter.....sigh
Please don't cut that beautiful leather flap.
Great looking bible! Pity it's an ESV 😉
Take it to a shoe cobbler and he can do the cutting for you
Does that come in King James? With my current Bible, I don't have enough room to make my own references and notations.
It’s made by Crossway who publish the ESV so you won’t find it in KJV
@@thedanalcantara I found the link as he stated and.typed in KJV, and.it went straight to it. Nice! Thanks
He’s sliding the books across cement arghh
Whose hands it ends up in? 😂 send it to me of course Pastor Mat.
lol
Link is not secure. Can you send a different one?
Hi Misty! Try this one: amzn.to/3Qb5ng0
Pen test, please! 😊
Do you happen to know the font size? I’ve searched and can’t find the size info anywhere.
Yes, you are correct! Thank you for sharing!
7.5
Crossway is great with innovative Bibles. Wish others would start stealing their ideas!
Post a 1 if you DONT want him to cut it lol
