1. Know your values and interests - 0:52 2. Know your resume - 1:32 3. Use a strong voice, and commit to your answers - 2:21 4. Let your body language speak well of you - 3:24 5. Stop, listen, and then respond - 3:52
“1. Know your values and interests” - This is the most fundamental step, which many people underestimate and therefore FAIL, before they even start. I say: “Don’t waste your time on interviews yet. Know what you want to do in life, and why. Know yourself first and then, you will be naturally confident and empowered.”
I've heard from a head hunter that they dont like to hear " i can learn quickly", or ' I'm fast learner" but instead say that your past work experience and skills are transferable s to be successful at the new job..
Im a newly educated engineer and most jobs require years of experience in their field. I usually write something like: "I might not have 3 years experience, but I can promise you that over a short period of time I will aquire the required knowledge and skills to become just as experienced and still be motivated to develop myself even more!". This usually lands me job interviews and its not necessarily lying either, because a question you should ask your eomployer is: "How can you help me to aquire the necessary skill and knowledge for this job?" and "How can you help me develop myself?". That was its not only up to you to learn everything on your own, but its also the employers responsibility to see to that you get the required training you need to become independent.
She lowers her voice at the end of every sentence even though she says not to at 2:21. The sentence in which she says not to lower your voice at the end of a sentence, she does just that.
Employers routinely ask improper, sensitive or illegal interview questions. Fear of the "unknown" is what usually drives emotional and psychological actions and reactions in the job interviews. When the job recruit educates themselves of their Basic Employee Rights in job interviews they are then empowered with a true sense of confidence and preparation.
