When I first saw your video I said: Wow! That is what I have to deal with. Since then I have been experimenting with whatever plants come out on the farm and in the surrounding area. Thank you Margaret for motivating me to embark on this journey 🥰
Lovely colors! I’m researching a way to dye my wedding dress naturally… it was an elopement, so I bought a cute sundress that I’d love to wear again. There’s not a lot of information out there, but your channel is amazingly detailed!
Congratulations on your elopement, Ashley! There are lots of beautiful options to dye your sundress with natural color, so hope you find some inspiration in the videos here. Remember that prep and pre-treating your fiber is the secret to the best results 😊 Have fun!
If you're traveling to northern Utah, we have rabbit brush EVERYWHERE. It makes a soft yellow. I'm in swampland and get nettles, but I haven't tried dyeing with it yet. Not sure if it's legal for me to forage it anyway since it's a bird sanctuary.
No plans to be in northern Utah this year, but will keep it in mind if my travels takes me there 😊 The nettles I forage from this area do not give me the minty greens I have seen. If you do manage to pick some and test it, let me know how it goes 💚
Makes me smile. 😊
You are me both!
