I’m 38 years old and I’m just wondering where the metal I grew up on went. I never thought I’d achieve old man mode where I think new music can’t even touch what I grew up on lol
There's time for everything. Every era have their masters, it comes and goes. Perhaps when the youth juice / unique factor starts to fade away, the movement dries up. Perhaps it's about getting older / disconnected / cynical, i notice that in me somewhat. Also, these reaction channels rarely touch upon the underground gems, it's mostly about the popular. Mainstream / popular doesn't often equate to greatness in my books. Fodder for the masses and clicks. But anyways, to each their own. Judging by the mainstream of now, it seems this generation doesn't seem to have much uniqueness of their own (when it comes to music atleast), many just emulate past times. Mainstream promotes this. But i think we'll rise from this time of apathy and misdirection to something great again. Time will tell.
